Part of the "Fall Particles 2016" compilation, East Café and his "False Visions" were an exciting contribution to a standout album. Fully represented with its own release alongside a trio of high-profile remixers, the original still enthrals with its emotive melodic phrasing, dynamic rhythmic interplay and first class production talent.

Latvian duo, Blood Groove and Kikis, have been at the vanguard of the underground dance scene for over seven years with their inimitable balance of progressive and trance. Regulars on the Spring Tube imprint, the pair have reigned supreme since early work saw them feature heavily, leading to almost a century of production credits for the Russian based label. Further work has found a home on Incepto, Pineapple Digital and Silk Music and it was for the latter that the best-selling "Wonderland" album went on to push Blood Groove and Kikis into mainstream consciousness with a compelling blend of original music. A quartet of remixes for Particles has served to remind listeners of the talent that flows from the pair's studio as we welcome them back to the label. Making intelligent use of the pitched percussive elements of the original, Blood Groove and Kikis' rework, takes "False Visions" on a tantalising, evolving journey that lilts deliciously before erupting at the mid-point with a dynamic running bass groove that cleverly reimagines East Café's work with a wealth of additional production material and striking new melodic sequence.

Fresh from his three-track, "Twisted" EP for Particles, Latvian producer, Ivar Tiliks, continues to gain admirers with his Subconscious Tales pseudonym. An artist whose mission statement centres around the use of adjectives such as 'melodic, hypnotising, charming and powerful', the Subconscious Tales story began, and has continued to grow, under the auspices of the Suffused Music imprint. Ably supplemented by a raft of production material for Balkan Connection, the Latvian's work is supported by such heavyweights as Hernan Cattaneo, Gai Barone and Barry Jamieson. Now following up his debut EP for Particles, the Suffused Tales voyage continues with a typically deft remix of "False Visions" that revels in cavernous bass groove and shuffling percussive cadence. Building effortlessly, intelligent use of East Café's parts sees hypnotic melodic repetition build to a rousing crescendo at the breakdown before rhythm and bass combine once more to startling effect in the third movement.

From the 17th century city of Tychy in Southern Poland, Jakub Helinski has continued to make waves of increasing amplitude through his Controlwerk soubriquet. Defining himself as "a risk taker and sound auteur", supported by Above and Beyond and Rank 1, the Controlwerk sound has found a home on such labels as Terminal Music, Soundwaves and Electronic Tree. Indeed, it is for the latter that a clutch of high-profile releases can be found, not least in January 2017's debut "Borderline" album, extending his sonic palette across the techno genre and illustrating an array of talents. Making his Particles debut, the Controlwerk remix of "False Visions" is full of the trademark subtlety and attention to detail that has become a staple feature of his work. Supported by a groove-laden rhythmic bed and cavernous bass line, a deliciously evocative melodic line spins a glassy web across the upper frequency range. Cleverly integrating components from East Café's original, Controlwerk's skill is in taking the track in an entirely different but no less enthralling direction.

The 35th release on Clubsonica Records welcomes Kamilo Sanclemente back to the label for his debut EP. The Colombian artist last appeared on the Colombian imprint in June of this year with a remix of 'Expression' by Dmitry Molosh. Boasting a meticulous discography, Kamilo has also showcased his music on Einmusika, Manual Music and Perspectives Digital, earning a bevy of A-list DJ support as a result. Having recently taken on an A&R role with Clubsonica, Kamilo now makes his much anticipated return, presenting his first EP for the label entitled 'Sea Of Tranquillity'. 

Kamilo has been one of this year's most pleasant surprises. Now a perennial in Beatport's progressive house charts, the Colombian artist has crafted a sound all his own, creating a buzz amongst the top DJs including Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. He continues that strong momentum here with the EP's title and showcase piece 'Sea of Tranquillity'. Electric rhythms, delicate melodies and misty atmospheres wrap around a foundation of energetic beats. Astral effects and timely modulation complete a rousing first act, ultimately leading to a series of emotive breaks. Split up into three sections the second act is lesson in building tension. Kamilo's expertise can't be overstated with classy execution and liquid-like flow resulting in maximum emotional response. Surely one of the Colombian's most refined works to date and no doubt one of the fall season's biggest records. 

The companion piece finds Kamilo collaborating with fellow countryman Mauro Aguirre. The duos 'Ocean Of Storms' sits as a lovely complement to the lead piece with its rolling rhythmic core and dark, mystical undertone. Undulating bass stabs, waves of percussion and timely vocal elements generate amazing momentum before a haunting top line lifts the mood into celestial territory. Subtle in delivery and all the more impactful as a result it leads to a third act highlighted by buzzing effects and gentle synth overlays. A masterful journey from Kamilo and Mauro, rounding out what is one of Clubsonica's most impressive offerings to date. Don't miss it.

Premiere: Golan Zocher - The Element (Nick Muir Remix) [Strange Town Recordings]

Clubsonica Records continues a strong start to the new year by welcoming Andre Moret to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from São Paulo but now based in Campinas, the Brazilian artist has been rising out of his country's burgeoning progressive house scene. Having already landed releases on Balkan Connection, Soundteller Records, Stellar Fountain and Transensations Records, Andre now debut's on Clubsonica with 'Recover' alongside a remix from Magitman.

Andre has become loved for his unique cross pollination of progressive house and trance. The title selection 'Recover' leads the release off and showcases this ethos wonderfully. It's chugging rhythms flow effortlessly across the first act, building waves of momentum as tantalizing arps and shimmering pads shift energy into the main break. Wispy atmospherics coupled with emotive chord changes and tasteful modulation highlight the centrepiece, before smoothly segueing into a driving finale. The second selection 'New Earth' follows with a deeper more spacious vibe. Incredibly groovy, catchy hooks blanket a chunky foundation as icy pads drift in and out of the stereo field, eventually leading to an expansive centrepiece. Spanning over two minutes in length, the main break is a showcase of Andre's precise craftsmanship, as cinematic drifts and detailed sonics build a compelling canopy of sound. Understated yet poignant, a gentle build teases the senses as a tasteful drop ushers in a stylish third act.

The lone interpretation of 'New Earth' is provided by Magitman who makes his label debut. The Israeli artist has been a fixture of the electronic underground for well over a decade, with a portfolio that includes releases on Beat Boutique, Movement Recordings and Proton Music. Now making his much anticipated Clubsonica debut, Magitman delivers a gorgeous rendition of 'New Earth'. Deep, intricate and undeniably groovy, it's a mesmerizing journey into the depths of hypnotic house. A touch tougher than the original, its buoyant framework is offset with acidic tones, astral artefacts and a less distinct take on the lead theme, making it ideal for a broad range of dance floors, while still delivering a heartfelt message.

Rounding out the release is the third and final original 'Reflective Shades'. Aptly titled, its reflective qualities prove to be the perfect end to this exhilarating sound story. Anchored by a warm progressive groove, its rhythmic core comes up quickly, with layers of finely tuned drums, subtle shades and vibrant tones. Airy pads and ghostly wails converge while astral arps and hopeful overlays rise towards the heart of the piece. Melting down into the break, its joyous theme resonates on a higher frequency, flowing through tasteful modulation as the groove drops for a finale of emotive chord changes. It rounds out an inspired collection of music from Andre, making his debut EP for Clubsonica a most memorable one.
