The “Echium” title track is a blistering sub-bass monster that drives along powerfully on a bed of ticking hi-hats and chest-thumping kick. Building in momentum, smooth pads and effortless synth lines flow across the 8-minute piece before revelling in a stripped-back breakdown. Picking up the pace again in the third movement, gorgeous harmonic overtones layer delicately across each other, borne of never-ending delay sweeps.

“Stranded” continues the powerful rhythmic narrative and otherworldly sonic landscape before a percussive loop provides subtle melodic phrasing. Shifting synth sequences bisect the left-right spectrum as waves of white noise fall against a rocky outcrop of percussive hats. Melodic lines continue to evolve in delicate patterns into the second half in a sonic palette of sheer bliss.

A sumptuous bassline groove propels “The Chase” through its hypnotic paces, accompanied by a chugging rhythmic backdrop. Simultaneously, gentle synth motifs pulsate in side-chained synchronicity as a rich symphony of sound swells into the second half against a plucked earworm phrase. The result is a dynamic and devastating club-friendly track that is sure to inspire a multitude of hands-in-the-air moments.

“The Serpent” ends the quadrilogy with its rippling sound effects that cascade in spiral patterns against a melodious foreground. Delicate percussive patterns marry with a deep resonant kick to provide a rhythmic anchor, giving freeform synth motifs the opportunity to express a meandering sonic voyage that reaches a powerful crescendo at the midpoint. Hitting its stride again in the third movement with additional melodic sequencing, the result is a charismatic end to an outstanding original EP."

'Atria' is a big crowd track with pumping grooves and memorable high keys in the break. Better suited for a peak time slot and positive vibes guaranteed.

On the other hand, 'Endless worlds' is as positive but giving more sort of a spacial feeling with robotic vocals in the break and hypnotic synths.

Dee Montero is next up on the ever reliant music tastemakers that are Do Not Sit On The Furniture Recordings. 

Montero is a UK artist with an international profile. He is a former resident at Cafe Mambo for eight years and has some serious skills in the DJ booth. His productions skills are renowned and revered too, with recent releases on the likes of Lee Burridge's Tale & Tones, Hot Since 82's Knee Deep In Sound, and Solomun's Diynamic, where his 'Halcyon' track spent 5 weeks at #1 on Beatport, and was Pete Tong's #1 Track of 2017. Here he goes deep and emotional on his four latest and great tracks. 

Chakra opens up with spine tingling xylophones dancing over rubbery, rolling grooves. It's a late night cut with a real sense of musical spirit that burrows deep into your brain. Ventura then picks up the pace but stays just as seductive, with supple kicks and more busy but enchanting new age melodies floating up top next to draped piano chords that are full of feeling. Bahia then traps you in a trance, with more sustained pads and chanting vocals that are utterly uplifting. It's a magical cut once more. Last of all, Samsara is another hands in the air, lighters out kind of tune with dreamy pads and superbly crafted melodies that are soft and shiver inducing. 

This really is a classy house EP from one of the best labels in the game.

'Antrim's Or Two Strangers imprint welcomes Sebastian Sellares to the label with 'Epiphany In The Woods'. Also known under his previous moniker Monje, Sebastian hails from one of Argentina’s most talent rich regions in Cordoba. His smooth progressive minded sound has become a favourite amongst old and new school fans of the genre, landing him releases on ICONYC,  PHW Elements and Massive Harmony Records. Now fresh off an EP for AMITABHA to begin the year, Sebastian debuts on Or Two Strangers alongside remixes from Simply City and Golan Zocher. 

The first interpretation of ‘Epiphany In The Woods'’ is provided by Simply City who is making his label debut. Hailing from Chile but now based in Montreal, Cesar Romero aka Simply City has become a fixture in the city’s burgeoning nightlife, earning a spot as one of Stereo’s resident DJs. On the production front he lays claim to releases on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and Nick Warren’s Hope Recordings. 

Now making his first appearance on Or Two Strangers he delivers a superb take on 'Epiphany In The Woods'. Presenting his first project of 2019, Cid Inc. returns to Replug Records with 'Via Karelia'. 2018 saw the Finnish artist release two of progressive music's most widely acclaimed and sought after EP's in 'Bird Cherry' and 'Abyss'. The two track offerings yielded play and support from his most revered contemporaries, namely Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J. Resounding chart success followed, with the title selections respectively reaching #1 and #2 in the Beatport Progressive House Top 100 tracks. Now after months of road testing and refinement, Cid Inc. unveils his much anticipated 'Via Karelia' EP to kick off 2019.

With over a decade of production credits under his Cid Inc. moniker, Replug label boss Henri Hurtig has continued to flourish. Sitting in the upper echelon of progressive music's elite, the Finnish producer continues his story with 'Via Karelia'. Following a prelude of warm beats, hip swinging percussion and electric stabs, comes redolent rhythms and  juxtaposed motifs. Tastefully timeless and evolving with an energetic flair, it's a melodic theme which shifts the narrative further into euphoric territory. Free flowing harmonics add depth and emotion, coming to full fruition during the main break and elegantly peaking for a spirited final act.

Rounding out the release in fine fashion are the dreamy tech-vibes of 'Turning Pages'. Cid Inc's Replug Records welcomes Sebastian Busto to the label with a two track artist showcase. Widely regarded for crafting the deep and  progressive spectrum's of house, the Buenos Aires resident has long been a favourite of world class DJs Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. The Argentinean artist also lays claim to an impressive discography, highlighted by releases on Magician On Duty, Sudbeat Music and The Soundgarden. Now making his much anticipated Replug debut, Sebastian presents his ‘Workaholic' EP. 

Sebastian's ability to craft evocative musical journeys is second to none. How he incorporates emotion in subtle yet profound ways is what makes him such a unique producer, and not to mention a favourite of the underground's most prominent tastemakers. The lead track ‘Workaholic' displays that perfectly, with its warm, rolling groove and sleek, rhythmic narrative. Deep, pulsating and full of intricate detail, the first act builds with a veteran's refinement. Developing in waves, exotic drums and subtle shades and tones fill in the framework, before a short break shifts the narrative into emotive territory, as impassioned chord changes and charming effects steal the air. Wondrously musically, melodic fragments carry into the centrepiece, heightening the senses, eventually giving way to a pensive roll and storyboard of astral designs and organic percussion. 

The companion piece ‘Journey to Ixtlan' follows suit with an equally impressive display of rhythm, groove and musicality. Pulsating and energetic, it's a creation built around cross cultural motifs and percussive drive. Worldly vocal wails fill the air with a soulful charm, as melodic fragments elevate mood into a well timed second act. Playing out over two magical minutes, the centrepiece is a story within a story, wondrously imaginative and incredibly compelling, as bassy rumblings fade into wistful overlays, before smoothly segueing into a vibrant finale. 

In a year that has seen Sebastian unveil his most satisfying work to date, he continues in auspicious fashion with ‘Workaholic'. A fitting Replug debut, with two productions that will not only satisfy the most discerning progressive house aficionados, but also stand the test of time incredibly well.

An artist with a 24-carat reputation plus skills and technique to match, Kastis Torrau has been at the cutting edge of underground dance music since he burst onto the scene with Donatello and Arnas D in 2011 – triumphant in the Sasha remix competition for "Cut Me Down". A subsequent appearance on Last Night On Earth rubber-stamped Torrau's global status as 'rising star', while a string of productions found their way on to Einmusika, Hope Recordings and Black Hole. A regular on Proton Music since August 2014, "Genesis" in collaboration with fellow countryman, Donatello, saw subsequent A-list remixes from Barry Jamieson and Darin Epsilon. Now returning, "Route 88" is characterised by a typically bristling bassline that drives the track relentlessly forward, wrapped around an immaculate and crisp rhythmic shell. A true star across his Belarusian home and far beyond its borders, Dmitry Molosh has seen his career skyrocket with his performances across Europe and South America in August 2019. Seeing his music feature on such illustrious labels as Replug, Sudbeat and Plattenbank, supported by such household names as Nick Warren, Guy J and Hernan Cattaneo, he featured on Particles with both original and remix production work in 2014 and '15. Making his Proton Music debut and reinventing Kastis Torrau, the Dmitry Molosh remix opens with a chest-thumping kick before reprising the bassline so central the original. Before long, a swathe of new production material appears that introduces new melodic structures and phrases that reach their zenith at the breakdown with beautiful piano notes and sumptuous pad textures.
