Like the machinery bureaucracy, the professional bureaucracy is based on clear lines of authority and standard administrative practices. No the Firmware does not run on the computer / Coreelec box its the software that runs in the dvb-t/s stick/card. It is uploaded to the device when it is spotted on the USB bus in its cold state. I use the same firmware for my usb-t tuner on my PC as in my Coreelec box. The driver on the other hand is compiled for ARM or x86.

Hello. I have been reading up and it seems something that changed in a kernel update causes the "DVB-C #0 - poll TIMEOUT".
I have no idea what kernel I was on when it was working, but I think it was 4.15 or 4.18.
I already have to build custom drivers for my DVB-S2 card using these steps...





I didnot follow the details of this discussions, but the first question: what is the exact version of the chip on your device: it is the smallest IC on the right side of your Top view picture.
I have a running version 2.7 of the ORxPi, it has the driver for this tuner:

I dont able to identified its version, maybe it is good for your IC maybe not.
If you can identify the exact version of your tuner IC, maybe you can consult the developer of the driver module.

A linux driver which can be downloaded forthe Mantis family from the Twinhan website (AZLinux_v1.4.2_CI_FC6). The mantis_vp1034 only has precompiled modulebinaries that are only suitable for the first FC6 kernel.

Using KDE desktop and trying to use the captioned stick on my laptop. Never had any experience with PCTV of any kinds and instructions in the box not much use as they are intended for windoze. Do I need linux drivers, special software or firmware?
Is there a guide anywhere?
