UNER's Solar Distance kicks off 2018 with a new release from Italian artist Luca Maniaci, who boasts previous releases on labels such as Josh Wink’s Ovum Recordings, Florian Meindl's FLASH, and 2000 and One's Area Remote.

Luca Maniaci along with the above mentioned labels also runs his own imprint Mind Games, and his music is regularly supported by the likes of Richie Hawtin, Steve Rachmad, UMEK and Anja Schnieder.

We premiere “Horizon” which has a looping lead synth rich with techno influence and dramatic pads with orchestral notation. Like a cosmic symphony, this track's futuristic sound is mechanical and intricate with a warm sound that unfolds like the soundtrack to a perfect sunrise.

As we slowly creep out of social isolation, Isolate remain where they’ve always been: in their own unique lane, serving up majestic electronic music from their Istanbul HQ. And for this particular trip, the labels tenth and their first vinyl release, the Isolate bosses are driving: Murat Uncuoglu & Alican.

‘No End’ starts the march. Stately, uplifting and just the right amount of triumph. It’s loaded with spiralling hooks that make you reach further than your arm’s length, make you look further than your eyes reach, make you hope more than conventional reality usually allows. This is sound of post-lockdown dancefloors around the world.

‘Patchwork’ follows. A darker, prowling slab of pristine synth drama with a plucked bassline and all kinds of flourishing twirls and diversions, within seconds it ensures heads are down and bodies are locked into the groove. Don’t believe the title; this one’s seamless…. And so is the grand finale track ‘Big Wishes’.

Signing out with a powerfully positive piece; ‘Big Wishes’ takes all the weirdness and tension of the last four months, screws it up tightly into a strange trippy ball then throws it so high in the air it turns to dust in the atmosphere. A true set highlight that will have your crowd wondering what hit them.

Producer, engineer and DJ extraordinaire Reset Robot is the alias of Dave Robertson, an accomplished artist based in Portsmouth on the south coast of the UK. Since launching the pseudonym in 2009 he has traveled the globe, DJing at many of the world’s most influential clubs and festivals, as well as rolling out a slew of well-received productions on labels such as Drumcode, Mobilee, Hotflush and his own platform Whistleblower Records. 

As a DJ Reset Robot’s unassuming approach belies his magnetic appeal and innate ability to craft sets that are polished, enthralling and full of shadowy allure. A self-confessed studio hound, he spends all day, every day at the controls, allowing creativity to flow out of him and refining his skills. Two decades of experience feed into his output, and he prefers to keep things uncomplicated in the studio. The resultant sound is his signature; brooding, sombre, yet accessible and contagious. 

Reset Robot’s visceral rhythms infect your subconscious urging you to dance, while captivating motifs and riffs stay with you long after the rave has ended; earworms of the highest order.
