2020 Sunday Sesh

No introduction needed for this soul train classic by Kool and The Gang. I have been messing with it for some time now trying to make a modern DJ friendly version and thought it would be nice to share. Initially I made the sorter 'hip cut' for me to play and mashup crossing over from soul and hip hop to disco but then I realized I could not do without the magical ARP synth solo so thus the 'extended version'. It took a while to tame and make it work and now here it is. Enjoy this fine piece of music and Merry Xmas peepz !

This is a Neil Young cover. We wanted to give out some new music while we are finishing up our album. We thought a cover would be a good idea and since we both love Harvest Moon we decided to give it a try. It's super intimidating to cover Neil Young so we tried to make it a lot different, just so we didn't have to "compete" with the master.

The original version of what became 90s monster hit "The Rhythm Of The Night" years later. Unfortunately none of the vinyl pressings sound good enough, I literally bought them all, both 12" and 7" formats, all are slightly distorted, so the overall sound here is not ultra crisp to say the least, still, a handy tool in to have in your shazam crate.
