As a Christmas gift, we invite you to listen a recording from the latest Chant Des Oiseaux: the superb set by Oliver.r, English producer & member of Felon5.
It was played on the last day of the festival, that precise moment when the birds take the time to go down from the great heavens. 

It's the first in a series of sets that we will be releasing on the Atipik Soundcloud page that we're happy to share with you.

This particular mix is very close to my heart for a number of reasons. The primary one is of course, Gabriel. The occasion, being the night of my birthday and the bringing together of two generations at the forefront of my world. Choosing Gabriel to open for Craig Richards.

As you know I have a deep rooted belief in “we need to know where we are coming from to know where we are going”. New and old generations intertwining.

Gabriel is a very unique young talent. He manages to have attritibutes that I only see in matured artists after all these years. Expansive musical knowledge, having the suitability and adaptability to the context at play; be it jazz, electronic or funk. One can feel that in the progression. Introduction, middle, end…

Story telling.

In addition to the artistic competence you have an incredible personality, one that has ambition but also remains humble, never confusing it with self-entitlement, rather …. mutual respect, appreciation and gratitude. Evident to that, he has his own party called Local Moves, born at The lion and Lamb, supporting local artists, enhancing exchange and contributing to the scene he is a part of.

The venue he holds that party residency in now Little Portland Street, also where this set was recorded. LPS is an audiophile space in Central London with a Martion Installation. This venue is very dear to my heart because I programme the Thursday nights there since it opened for nearly 3 years now.

Raw, minimal, and heavy with atmosphere — a deep-space acid transmission built for the club floor but steeped in dub-shadowed detail. A hypnotic 303 line snakes through submerged MS-20 swells, low DX7 stabs, and a sub pulse that moves like something vast beneath the surface. Sparse percussion, ghost snares, and reverb-soaked sonar pings give the track its drifting, underwater-in-space feel.

This is the dark tide of the Space-Time Logs — the slow, smoking submarine dragging acid through thick water, somewhere beyond known charts.

Status: Transmission heavily corrupted. Exposure to dark-matter decay and twisted cognitive patterns detected.
Artefact count: Multiple — unstable but active.
Subjective time distortion: sustained lethargy, punctuated by sudden propulsion bursts.

Before we join forces with Absolut to bring Nicolas Lutz to London's Pickle Factory for a garage, breaks and dubstep set, we're getting a fresh perspective on local crew Toi Toi.

Collaborating with them as part of the Alternate Cuts series was a no-brainer for us here at RA. Their ethos of exploring music through its purest form has lead them to producing unique sound design and engineering in some of London’s most interesting warehouse spaces. Their dynamic aesthetic has produced incredible artwork for this show and we are proud to work alongside Isis Salvaterra, Claus Voigtmann and mix contributor Junki Inoue.

Here across an hour and change we get a tightly woven collection of club heat and earwormy electronics delivered with precision and style.

The name itself carries a very deep meaning for me as it is shared with a film that has a very significant importance in my life.

Well, we all know what happened to the summer of 2020.. instead we gathered in an enchanted land behind the screen, called "The Space Between".

Chats at the beach bar and exploring our dreams underneath the stars.

This was my contribution, a trip through consciousness with eyes wide shut, traveling to the party that could have been.

O.bee’s Dreamscape [21:22:28] The Space Between

Zip is co-founder of the label Perlon, is familiar with the dancefloors around the world and famous for his tremendous minimal shifts within the 4/4 scheme. He has an illustrious musical history which began in 1986 as singer in the band Second Voice. In 1992 he moved to Frankfurt and joined the EBM band Bigod 20. After several releases the band split. In 1996 he got together with Markus Nikolai and Chris Rehberger to form the audio-visual project Pile. In 1997 he and Nikolai founded the Perlon label, on which he has released under the pseudonyms Dimbiman, Pantytec (with Sammy Dee) and Narcotic Syntax (with James Dean Brown). In 1999 the SuPERLONgevity compilation was released, featuring 'Bushes', a track that has since garnered chart-topping remixes from the likes of Derrick Carter and Fatboy Slim.

Zip also recorded with Peter "Baby" Ford and has appeared on Ford's label PAL SL. He is a regular guest DJ in clubs around the world and holds residencies at Robert Johnson (Offenbach) and the Panorama Bar (Berlin). He participates in the Narod Niki project, occasional collective laptop live jams initiated by Ricardo Villalobos and Richie Hawtin. He has released tracks and remixes on Perlon, Playhouse, Force Inc, Novamute and others.
