Cutting edge techno at it’s finest, Parisian heavyweight Bambounou takes us through the paces with a mind-warping mix for the Junction 2 series.
 
Fusing his love for dystopian sci-fi with futuristic interpretations of UK techno, IDM and tribal sources, Bambounou is an artist at the forefront of today’s underground scene. Catching the attention of Modeselektor early, the French-Malian-Polish producer has released two albums and five EPs on the now-defunct seminal label, 50Weapons, and is set to launch his own imprint, Bambe, this month. Lauded for his experimental eclecticism and dynamic sets, Bambounou is a regular at dance institutions like Breghain, Concrete and De School and will be making his long-awaited debut with us at ION Festival this September.

For the next LUVCAST we've got quite a biggie in store! It's from none other than (Acid) House / Techno icon TIN MAN who is (as are we) based in our lovable city Vienna.

The California born Johannes Auvinen is not only a multi instrumentalist and analog freak but also quite a visionary when it comes to musical boundaries. His seven (!) albums were released between 2004 and 2014, encompassing a staggering amount of styles ranging from raw acid house to ambient chamber pop. Being an admirer of 80s synthpop, TIN MAN would even sing on many of his tracks - which is a good indicator of just how inconvenient it is to simply call him a techno producer. 2014 also marked the year when his skills as a selector were aquired by Resident Advisor for their prolific mix series.

Needless to say we're stoked to having him on board of the LUVCAST train! Here's what he had to say about the mix: "100% unplanned all vinyl mix (for the pervs)"

The album is conceived entirely for the dancefloor, with no rest and no breathe, no ambient or >quiet< tracks. Melodies emerge at times, resulting from original orchestrations of piano and machines. At other times more violent and static textures explore the extreme repetitions of piano harmonics, combined with slowly evolving filter-sweeping hypnosis. Born in 1980 and raised in the Detroit area, Luke Hess (@deepisdeep) has harnessed a deep appreciation for electronic music and the expression of the underground movement. His background in mathematics and engineering has given him a scientific approach to the dance floor, using frequencies, tones, and soundscapes to transform surroundings and mood. In 2003 he recorded his first promotional mix CD release for UR/Submerge. Since then, his faith based music production has landed him a seat with FXHE and Planet-e in Detroit.
His debut album was released in early May 2009 by Denmark based label @echocord.
In 2010 he began his own interpretation of Detroit techno with his new Detroit project and record label - DeepLabs.
His sophomore album “Keep On” was released on FXHE records in 2012 and received a Recommended 4.5/5 rating on @resident-advisor.
