After years of collecting records affiliating with the Mossing label Sex Tags, I finally grabbed them out of the shelf and recorded a "one take mix". Been a while doing this due to new family biz, but! Really enjoyed this one. I place labels such as Sex tags, Amfibia, Wania, Sued, Acido, Oblivion Dip, Club No No ++in the same crate, cause they are related in style, produsers that are acqueinted in some way, dudes that I have met and friends. This mix is a few of my favorites, but there is a lot more good shit out there.

In the mix with Melbourne’s prodigal son Francis Inferno Orchestra, whose spent the last two years banking quality studio cuts in London. His most recent EP ‘Where Will You Be Spending Eternity?’ was self-released via Superconcious Records, which he runs with likeminded Melbournian Fantastic Man. Quickly becoming our favourite active label, it’s been platform to Zanzibar Chanel splinters Imhotep and Luis Cl, Swedish analogue duo Mount Liberation Unlimited and some loony house from András. A Fantastic Man EP is now in the works.

Noise In My Head 1/3/2016 - Francis Inferno Orchestra Mix

With the recent passing of Mika Vainio, we share an early live recording from him with Panasonic (later known as Pan Sonic), the experimental group that he co-founded. The Finnish pioneer was an inspiration to many electronic producers and also produced solo material under his own name as well as Ø and Philus, amongst others. Jeff Waye invited Panasonic to play at a night in Montreal in 1996 and shares this story about the recording;
"Back in the early 90's myself and Linus Booth had started a record label, Discreet/Indiscreet Records. To launch one our releases by David Kristian we decided we needed one of our favourite groups Panasonic to come headline. With zero idea of how to throw an event, we somehow got two Finns and a bunch of gear over the border and set up at a closed down rap club (which fortunately hadn't had the PA stripped out). The power of being naive made for a great show. Afterwards went back to our place and listened to dub records with Mika, Ilpo, and Tommi Grunlond until sun came up and followed Pan Sonic right through their career from that point. Upon learning of Mika Vainio's passing and the ensuing nostalgia I remembered I had a DAT tape of that night. So here it is... Panasonic's set from that night in all its glory."
