~Reflections~

My favorite moments in the mix are when a sense of urgency to play around, to switch moods, to linger and lean into experiments,  all of it riles up and smooths out the beat connection again and again. Just like the oceans tide, it comes in swells of beautiful music and risky stitching of all the messages together. It's not perfect, but I am living in these songs for this moment. Washing them through my being and my perspective, that's the fun part and the part I feel the deepest, that somehow I'm bringing this music to life through appreciation and reverence. 

Giving you something new at the end. The culmination of all the inspiration - is new music - sonically pushing to channel more light to this world.

Nowadays Nonstop Dec 2024 Closing set

This DJ set by Mike Servito was recorded somewhere on the astral plane (a filthy Detroit basement) on February 1, 2025, at Ritual Rave, a party celebrating the pagan holiday Imbolc, which signals the start of Spring.

Buckle up and get ready to crank that shit ‘cause you’re in for a wild ride. This set is laced with only the rawest, bitchiest, nastiest, sweatiest, most classic Detroit-basementiest @mikeservito cuts. The rave reviews are in and the critics are hailing it as “A masterpiece of Servito '95. Mike in his highest and most enlightened form. A set so transformative that it effortlessly and masterfully bends the time-space continuum. It's an aural bitchslap like no other. It’s quintessentially pureDetroitmoods."

RA.623 Underground Resistance

I recorded this mix in 2018 for the Her Damit festival and titled it the Mystery of the Motherbeat. I was hungry to tour Europe for the first time and agreed to do a mix and play the festival on a shoestring budget. Her Damit went into bankruptcy later that year, failing to pay artists and others for their work.  They also let their Soundcloud account expire, losing all the mixes they commissioned for the series. 

I am re-releasing this mix under its original name. Its real name. It is one of my deepest mixes. It is filled with the love and hope for the future that I put into it. It was recorded a week before I went to visit Maya and Brooke for the first time in March of 2018, exactly two years ago. That visit would change my life.
