Every time I consider to finally step down from the DJ booth with a bold statement another opportunity arises with a high promise to become the chance for an even bolder statement. And her I am, continuing.

So, what to play this time? One recent night gave me the inspiration: a music lovers' trio (me included) hanging at a friend's place while tripping smoothly on mushrooms (me excluded) was wondering which music would be the appropriate accompaniment.

I proposed my "Psychedelic Soul" set (it's here on my SC page) which I believe belongs to the most flawless and fluid mixes I ever managed to conduct. Somehow the flow happened almost by itself here, plus: "surrounded by nature, outdoors vibes and the heavy, monsoon-like rain must have been a great inspiration". So why not get this spirit back into the club, surrounded by a Get Perlonized nature, family vibes, and a heavy monsoon-like love for music! Consequently, back home I delved into the shelves of club psychedelia that had remained untouched and dusty for quite a while.

At Zenner Club, I was very moved when quite a few people in the crowd told me that they had only come to hear me play and that my performance was the one they've been tripping to in the most pleasurable manner. Which confirms me that it is advisable never to follow a safe path in favour of always looking for an adventurous music journey (in this case with the echo of a mushroom feel). The extra fun part of the mission was: 30% of the tracks I mixed I had never played before.

These experiences keep me continuing while still looking for the ultimate boldest statement to step down from the DJ booth. It seems it didn't happen, not even this time.

Two hours from a warm-up set at Club der Visionaere a few weeks ago, from 18 to 22. Fresh out of the hospistal due to some acute health issue, on heavy painkillers so I was not at my best form. But that's how recordings should be, raw like life itself. Njoy.

Deep Melodica is a Compilation written by Johnny Deep. Genres include melodic deep house, deep organic and soft progressive. Also included is a collaboration with Disco Daze.
Most Listeners may not realise that Streaming has unfortunately caused a massive loss of income for artists. It is also causing underground music to decline since artists and labels are going more commercial to make up lost income from streaming versus the buying/downloading. Zip is co-founder of the label Perlon, is familiar with the dancefloors around the world and famous for his tremendous minimal shifts within the 4/4 scheme. He has an illustrious musical history which began in 1986 as singer in the band Second Voice. In 1992 he moved to Frankfurt and joined the EBM band Bigod 20. After several releases the band split. In 1996 he got together with Markus Nikolai and Chris Rehberger to form the audio-visual project Pile. In 1997 he and Nikolai founded the Perlon label, on which he has released under the pseudonyms Dimbiman, Pantytec (with Sammy Dee) and Narcotic Syntax (with James Dean Brown). In 1999 the SuPERLONgevity compilation was released, featuring 'Bushes', a track that has since garnered chart-topping remixes from the likes of Derrick Carter and Fatboy Slim.

Zip also recorded with Peter "Baby" Ford and has appeared on Ford's label PAL SL. He is a regular guest DJ in clubs around the world and holds residencies at Robert Johnson (Offenbach) and the Panorama Bar (Berlin). He participates in the Narod Niki project, occasional collective laptop live jams initiated by Ricardo Villalobos and Richie Hawtin. He has released tracks and remixes on Perlon, Playhouse, Force Inc, Novamute and others.
