Name a genre, and you can bet that Luis Garban has tried his hand at it once or twice. Once a staple of the mid-'00s IDM and breakcore scene—think Tigerbeat6—as Cardopusher, Garban found a temporary home in the dubstep scene afterwards, before shooting off in what felt like a million directions. He might be the only artist to release on both Hyperdub and Boysnoize Records. He makes music that can sound like the future or the past, sometimes both at once, and the Venezuelan-born, Spain-based producer's name is shorthand for musical adventurism and variety.

Last year, things got even wilder with the debut of Safety Trance, a new alias that explores pan-Latin club music, with a focus on collaboration and shorter, structured songs. (Artists he's worked with include Arca, Iceboy Violet and Virgen Maria.) It's some of the best and most creative work of his career, riding a larger Latin techno wave producing some of the best music around these days.

If that weren't enough, returning to Cardopusher, Garban has a career-best EP on the way for EVAR Records, pulling together the various strands of the project into a multi-genre, Gen-Z-friendly raveathon. Loaded with original tracks from both projects, RA Podcast could be billed as Cardopusher vs. Safety Trance, with highlights coming from Atari Teenage Riot, VTSS and Venetian Snares, which should give you an idea for the kind of controlled chaos you're in for with this one.

Spring 2023 is shaping up to be Tzusing season, with appearances at Manchester's The White Hotel (where he'll make his debut in the city at a party with the PAN crew this evening), Rewire and Lyon festival Nuits Sonores all taking place in the coming weeks. This playful selection of hard drum, hip-hop edits and other dancefloor weapons plucked from his current club set rotation makes it easy to see why.

We are back at you once again with the SPEED mix series Artist Invitation edition. For our 36th mix in the series, we are very excited and proud to share this incredible mix from Kasimyn.

Kasimyn is one-half of Gabber Modus Operandi. As with GMO’s blend of modern and traditional/ritualistic sounds, Kasimyn’s solo work takes Indonesian music to a different plant. While it may be difficult to figure out the sounds and origins inside his music, one thing is for sure, when Kasimyn is behind the decks, you will be dancing!

Fresh off releasing his solo album, BUNYI BUNYI TUMBAL, under his HULUBALANG alias on Drowned by Locals label, and has recently collaborated with Björk for her album ‘Fossora’, Kasimyn is moving fast and everyone else is just trying to keep up.

We thank Kas so much for putting this mix together for us to share with you all. It is a lot of fun, and we hope you have fun with this one too!

Unsound podcast number 103 kicks off the series of recordings from Unsound Kraków 2024 – and this one is a treat. In the early hours of the Unsound club event Venezuelan producer Safety Trance – known for his collaborations with artists such as Arca and Isabella Lovestory – joined forces with American DJ, artist and astrologist and Manuka Honey. The result? A hot and sultry b2b filled with dark reggaeton and gqom interwoven with dembow  and deep bass music. Dive in!

From his roots in Venezuela to his current base in Barcelona, Luis Garban’s sonic journey began in the early 2000s, drawn by the arcane combo of IDM, jungle, and hardcore swirling through the ether. Unspooling ribbons of breaks-laced rave as Cardopusher, his work soon evolved toward darker, stranger inclinations – a toothsome fusion of icy wave, industrial sounds, and leftfield reggaeton intertwined with flair and a fervour for the flavor of experimentation.
After contributing production credits on several tracks on Arca´s "KiCk" series like "Prada/Rakata" and "KLK" feat. Rosalía, he brought forth the new moniker of Safety Trance, unveiling the audio-visual experience 𝘌𝘭 𝘈𝘭𝘮𝘢 𝘘𝘶𝘦 𝘛𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘫𝘰 on Boysnoize Records. Borne from a mind-meeting with longtime friend, collaborator and acclaimed soundsmith Arca, the song is an infectious combination of cyberpunk post-physicality atmosphere and bangin’ mechanized beats juxtaposed with her electrifying vocals.
Since then, fast forwarding to 2024, he has released several EP´s and remixes under his new alias. Standout works includes the critically acclaimed "Lágrimas" (Club Romántico, 2022) and "Arena!", a recent collaboration with Sega Bodega. Additionally He has collaborated with a diverse array of like-minded artists such as Isabella Lovestory, DJ Florentino, LSDXOXO, Virgen María, VTSS, La Goony Chonga and Iceboy Violet.
