Keith Anderson:DJ and Timeline Music UK cofounder, Keith Anderson, was brought up the good wayexposed to the timeless quality of Electro in the late 1980’s. Fascinated by this enigmaticsound, he bought his first two electro records Herbie Hancock Rocket  and Newcleus Jam onit This only solidified his love for Electro and he ended up buying all the classic tracks on12inch circa 1986 and 1987.1988-1989 would see Keith getting into the fresh worlds of Acid House and Techno. The lovewas there as it was with Electro. Following the inspiration, Keith frequented the Soul 2 SoulShop in London, eventually buying The Dance by Derrick May. It was during these yearsthat Keith set out to shift the gears into Djing.From the DJ perspective, Keith's main objective is to bring the power to a mix selectingtracks that work well together to create a powerful blend, to allow the creation of a storythroughout. As Keith puts it, a good DJ is about mixing and selecting good music.Keith's history as a live DJ goes back to Eurobeat 2000 at Frankie D legendary club. It washere that his talent was recognized.He would go on to play at some of the biggest clubs in London including; The End, UltimateBase Hardware, and Analogue City to name a few. In addition, Keith has spun the waxalongside Claude Young, Derrick May, and DJ Rush, Dave Angel. Joining us for Tapes #131 is self-confessed vinyl addict and Wigan’s finest, Wes Baggaley. For decades, he’s been familiar to promoters, record store staff and clubbers in Manchester and London, but in recent years he has become a familiar face to a much wider audience.

From 2016 to 2024 he played some of the best regarded underground parties across Europe including the legendary Panorama Bar, Frankfurt’s esteemed Robert Johnson, Munich’s Blitz and Rotte Sonne, NYC Downlow, Horse Meat Disco, Chapter 10, Adonis and many more. Written features across several leading dance music titles have appeared and Wes has done live streamed sets for Mixmag's The Lab and an extremely well received one for Boiler Room. When the Covid 19 pandemic struck Wes did a number of live streams including one for Jerome Hill’s brilliant Don’t label and one for Krake festival, both streamed live from Fold, London. He has also appeared on Berlin’s now legendary Hör and currently holds a long running residency at Bottom Heavy with Dan Beaumont at Dalston Superstore.

Longhaul 034 - London Modular Alliance

The music Dane MacDonald plays and releases on his Common Edit label is as warm as his North Canadian roots are not. Always serving up sets with love, he is a big bearded, long haired dancer at heart, and someone who has a close relationship with west coast disco dons Eddie C and Koosh. Now based in Berlin and still pressing up records that will always fire up a more friendly, cosy party, his reputation has grown beyond the cult. Digging deep through rock, new age and freaky disco, he knows how to throw a party as well as how to throw down records. 

Over the course of 90 minutes he takes us on a sparkling journey where only he knows the destination. One minute you’re lost in a warm and festive disco cut, the next getting down to a low slung boogie track. Heavier drum led house comes later on, before heavyweight dub disco tunes lead us to a jazz-funk crescendo that sizzles with real joy.

A 4+ hour (Extended Mix) from Edmonton, Canada based Dane Macdonald, DJ producer and Common Edit captain. His mix traverses ambient (reserved for "a couple of besties and the hardworking staff"), through boogie, into deeper introspection and wide-eyed euphoria.

(Extended Mix) is a new charitable series that celebrates all-night specialists and more simple, carbon-friendly lineups. Instead of paying on the door for this extended experience, we invite listeners to donate to the DJ directly while their gigs are cancelled, or to a chosen charity. For this one Dane has opted for Unist'ot'en.
