The halls of the grand hotel were eerily quiet at night and the dim lights flickered softly. The nervous inn was not a place frequented by most, thankfully many would never find themselves in a place like this for they were of sounder mind. The tension between each room could be cut with a knife and there was little conversation between residents. 

Greco Roman are set to release a new EP which features two remixes of the popular Balako release. Eric Duncan is drafted in to remix "Nervous Inn" and does so in true style.

@clandestinomusic 's fourth release welcomes Russia’s Denis @Kolomensky to the family.  The ‘Recovery’ EP opens with a lively conga section, snappy snares and a classic Detroit-style drum sequence.  Man of the moment Felix Dickinson ramps up the tension with a modern jack track by intensifying the bass, introducing firing drums and darker pads. Whilst Clandestino turn out an energetic, organic version. Rich with afro-centric drums, layered with an ethnic chant and forest atmospheres. 

On the bside  ‘Santa Monica’ takes a slower pace; gentle sunset chords complement marimba hits and atmospheric key stabs.  This track getting the seal of approval from Andrew Weatherall and one you are bound to be hearing in ALFOS sets for some time to come.

Balearic Gabba Sound System’s completes the release with an extended rework, featuring  a dreamy female vocal over heart wrenching synths.

'Skies Reprise' closes off the EP with a beat less take on the original. The melodies given more space for a sonic equivalent of open air swaying under hazy pink skies.

The Mushrooms Project are well known for their sleazy mid-tempo laid-back percussive style, a sound that immediately resonated with rising stars and newly signed label mates Earthboogie. 

Specifically it was ‘Dubby Bolas’ from the Italian duo’s 2016 album ‘Rivea Corymbosa’ album that really excited Earthboogie and equally, the Mushrooms were fans of the afro disco sound the Londoners displayed on their debut track ‘Route Ten To Interzone’.

The mutual appreciation led to this remix project which was released on Record Store Day 2018 and showcases their complementary productions styles which collide with great effect.
