Amsterdam-based harpsichordist Guillermo Brachetta makes his solo debut recording with a programme of ciacconas and chaconnes that chart the extraordinary diversity and the development of this musical form.

The celebrated harpsichordist Steven Devine makes his Resonus debut with the first of three significant volumes surveying the keyboard works of the French Baroque composer Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683-1764).

A vital milestone in the harpsichord repertoire, Devine here presents the first two books of Rameau's Pièces de Clavecin - the 1706 Premier Livre de Pièces de Clavecin and the 1724 Pièces de Clavessin. Ranging from the more traditional dance movements of the earlier book to the sophisticated and forward-looking character pieces of the second book, Rameau's solo keyboard works always present a rich feast for the ear. 

Released in the 250th anniversary of the composer's death, Devine performs on a copy by Ian Tucker of an instrument by Andreas Ruckers (1636) with ravalement by Henri Hemsch (1763).

Renowned organist Stephen Farr returns to the Resonus label with the first of three major albums surveying the complete organ works of the twentieth-century British composer Kenneth Leighton (1929-1988).

Recorded on the monumental Rieger organ of St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh, the city where Leighton spent most of his working life as a composer, the centrepiece of this opening programme is Leighton's most substantial work for the instrument, Missa de Gloria, Op. 82, written for the inaugural Dublin International Organ Festival in 1980. Also featured are the inventive Six Fantasies on Hymn Tunes, Op. 72 (written for former St Giles' organist Herrick Bunney) and the Imporvisation in Memoriam Maurice de Sausmarez from 1969.

Farr is also joined by organist John Butt for the epic and challenging organ duet based on a Scottish Psalm-tune, Martyrs, Op. 73.

The Queen’s Six releases their debut album with a sumptuous selection of music from the golden age of English polyphony.

Following their acclaimed debut recording (Clarion Call – RES10127), the Berkeley Ensemble returns with a programme of chamber works by the British composer Lennox Berkeley, one of the two composers (father and son) after whom the group gets its name.

Featuring a number of world premiere recordings, the ensemble presents a selection of works that covers most of Berkeley’s creative life from the early Francophile clarinet Sonatine written in Paris while a student of Nadia Boulanger to the inventive Introduction and Allegro for double bass and piano. Also featured are the Three solo pieces for viola and the large scale String Trio Op. 19 and Sextet, Op. 47 for clarinet, horn and string quartet, and the emotive miniature In Memoriam Igor Stravinsky.
