After last year's massive collaboration with Spektre: "Shoot From the Hip", Chicago Loop is back on Respekt with a brace of solo productions. 
Wolf at the Door is a dystopian slice of techno with vocals from an alternative future set atop a bending, twisting, disorientating monster of a bassline. Spektre turn in a remix that maintains the feel of the original, whilst bolting on an extra layer of hoover mayhem.
"Don't Let it Go" is a deeper cut, with bubbling arps and a soulful vocal snippet accompanied by a more raw mix from Tom Hades.

Burrows is back! Following last year's hit "All Your Dreams", Gary returns to Respekt with a worthy successor in "Burning". Fusing his trademark rave influences with uncompromising drums and a DnB-inspired break, Burning is pure fire.
The remix comes from Dave Sinner, who dials back the tempo and cranks up the groove for a wicked, percussive re-think.
As if those two weren't enough, Gary also provides the relentless "Reaper One" and the shuffling acid of "Can't Hold Back" to complete the package.

Spektre are back on home turf once again, with a sinister two-tracker.

'Carnival Of Souls' sets the scene with the relentless bang of their trademark heavy kick drum. Opening with a dark and eerie atmosphere that appropriately matches the title, the lead synths develop into uplifting euphoria, as the tracks mood transforms in the breakdown.

Second of the two original tracks 'Land Of Strays' has a building tension with fluttering synths. The powerful vocal also lifts the track and provides great contrast with the growling tones of the ominous bassline. Undeniably a peak time cut of dancefloor focused techno, this is a spark to light anyone's fire.

Track three is SAMA's remix of 'Carnival Of Souls' which is a refined version of the original with the addition of his own grinding bass stabs and thinned kick drum to allow more focus on the synth parts. Keeping all of the originals energy, it has all of the same charm but with added depth for those who like things a touch deeper.

Finishing the EP is D-Unity's remix of 'Land Of Strays' and stripping away many of the originals synths it's a percussion lead alternate version. Using the vocal and only short bursts of synths, this darker version has more ferocity to it, and will no doubt be a favourite with those who play a harder style of techno.

Spektre - Carnival Of Souls

As the dance music industry descents upon Amsterdam once more, we celebrate this annual pilgrimage with a collection of upfront cuts from members of the Respekt family old and new.
From the dark, ravey flavours of Chicago Loop's 'Firebrand', through the gritty reeses and breaks of Origin Riddim's 'Ruffneck' to the wobbling analogue synths of Gaist's 'Moog', there is something for every lover of techno on our latest Weekend in Amsterdam.

Luca De-Santo & Transcode - Elements

For Respekt 164, we welcome back two of our favourite heavy-hitters: Skober and Yan Oxygen. This time working in concert to create the mesmerising 'Lost in Dreams', the Ukrainian duo have melded hints of late-90s progressive melody with a super-fresh techno undercarriage to create something quite unique. The remix comes courtesy of Belgian duo Joyhauser, who wind up the toughness and stretch out the break, before slamming us with some nasty synth blasts. To complement the lead track, Skober goes solo on the acid and vocal driven 'I Wanna See'.

After making his debut on the very first Prospekt EP two short years ago, we are proud to have Gary Burrows as part of the Respekt family, and to welcome him back for his fourth outing on the label.
'Something You Need' is classic Burrows, with a rave-inspired riff and bassline married to a classic vocal snippet and pummelling drums. Hungarian duo Steam Shape take on the mantle of remixing the beast, and do so with acidic aplomb.
Track two is another vocal led cut in the form of 'Keep On'. Slightly (but only slightly!) more laid back than the A-side, this one brings in lush pads to add another layer to the formula. The second remix comes courtesy of Luca De-Santo, who whizzes up the parts with some nasty saw riffs and sharp percussion.

For Respekt 166, we welcome Stiv Hey for his first full EP on the label. The release kicks off with 'Can't Stop'; a stone-cold dancefloor destroyer with it's seismic kickdrum, swirling vocal loops and percussive synth hook. Backing it up is 'Control', a slightly deeper take on Stiv's sound, powered by a huge offbeat bass and topped with cool, proggy chords.
As if these two monsters weren't enough, we have a double bill of debut remixers too. Brennen Grey cranks up the drones on his remix of 'Can't Stop', and Juliet Fox takes us on a trip deep into acid territory with her monster rework of 'Control'.

Following on from the steamroller that was 'Carnival of Souls', Respekt's top brass are back with a fresh two-tracker. 'Gates of Dawn' gets the ball rolling with a hefty tip of the cap to Spektre's ravey roots. Searing, gated sawtooth riffs are peppered with breakbeat chops and of-the-era vocal hits to devastating effect. 
The second part of this double A-side is the more introspective 'Something Inside Us', on which the duo keeps the energy levels high, blending mesmerising, acidic melodies with cinematic pads and a scene-setting vocal sample.
The remix package adds yet more colours to the release's palette, with top notch reinterpretations from Loco & Jam and Vinicius Honorio.

After debuting with 'The Last King' on 2017's Weekend in Amsterdam compilation, we're delighted to welcome back Argentine duo Beico & MT93, and 'Addictive Darkness' is certainly worth the wait! 
A peak-time monster of the highest order, the A-side is driven by a relentless, sinister and decidedly moreish synth line, which takes a short break to make way for heavy reeses and frantic snares before promptly getting back to the business of bulldozing dancefloors.
Support comes in the shape of 'Trascend', showing a more melodic side the the pair's sound with fizzing arpeggios and eerie fx.

We welcome OC & Verde back onto Mutual Respekt with another incandescent live set, this time recorded at Ritter Butzke in Berlin. Enjoy.

For Respekt 172, we take a little dig into Spektre’s Respekt back catalogue, with a quintet of reworks from the scene’s finest.
OC & Verde kick things off with their super vibey interpretation of “Carnival of Souls” - a timely chaser to their huge Respekt hit “Mondoshawan”.
Next up to the plate is Harvey McKay, making his debut on the label with a characteristically stripped-back, no nonsense take on “Gates of Dawn”.
Manchester’s Rudosa transplants the melodies from “Forged in the Heart of a Laserbeam” onto his trademark heavy drums and rumbling low-end, whilst Hush & Sleep and Raito put their inimitable stamps on “Strobelight” and “Celeste” respectively.

From the cosmic vibes of Tom Hutt's 'Galactus' and the spacey acid of Jeremy Stott's 'Cloud Choir', to Gary Burrows' vocal-led rave anthem 'One Family' and deeper cuts like Oliver Carloni & Djoko's 'Consciousness', Mutual Respekt 5 is a cross section of where Respekt's sound is at in 2019.

Nicolas Taboada - Last Decision (Original Mix)

Riding the wake of their awesome contribution to the last Mutual Respekt compilation, we welcome Steam Shape back to Respekt with another sharp 2-tracker.

'Into My Veins' teases with an insistent arpeggio and haunting spoken vocal, before dropping the hammer with a quirky syncopated synth hook.
The supporting cast is no less punchy; 'Forget About Time' fuses a low, polyrhythmic 303 sequence with sidechained sirens and a higher acid pattern to devastating effect.

Steam Shape - Into My Veins

RSPKT178 is the long-awaited debut EP from Brennen Grey on Respekt. After a killer remix on Stiv Hey's 'Can't Stop' a year ago, we're hyped to have him back on the label with 3 servings of his signature aural cuisine.
'Carpe Omne' kicks things off with soaring, off-kilter arpeggios and gated vocal fragments, before peaking with a massive, laser-reaching breakdown, then steaming back in with all out mayhem.
'Voice of the Void' continues the eerie theme with gothic choirs and demonic drones, whilst 'Les Dieux' serves as a less melody-driven counterpoint to it's sister tracks, relying on a seismic kickdrum and sparse synth stabs to round out the release.
