"This mixtape is dedicated to the first friend I made after moving to Berlin. He's an avid field recordist, audio hardware nerd, and plugin coder - I, too, am fascinated by all things sound, so we quickly found out about our shared love of dusty ambient, early Warp, and electro-acoustic experimentation. When he got me a tape deck for Christmas, I went on to make him an actual tape with it for his birthday. This mixtape is the B-side, the "Evening Tape", 45 mins of music designed to help you process the day's emotions, calm down, and drift into sleep."

Monibi (@mawnyb) is a French artist based in Berlin. They work as a DJ, music producer, and FOH sound engineer. She's played for Boiler Room, CTM Festival, Renate, about:blank, RSO, Oxi, Institut für Zukunft Leipzig, Gewölbe Köln; Hör Berlin, Refuge Worldwide, Rinse France, Red Light Radio Amsterdam, WDR Cosmo, among others. 

Global bass and leftfield house often shine in Monibi's club DJ sets. She joins the dots of the dance music spectrum favouring vibe over genre dogmatism. The vibe is percussion-heavy, retrofuturistic, embracing queerness, and invites colourful mystic journeys.

Her productions and remixes delve into a low end centric liminal world dominated by percussive themes. Monibi's second EP “Forest Love" came out via Barcelona electro and techno label Diffuse Reality in summer 2022.

Monibi's been involved in community based projects concerned with the diversification of nightlife and music, such as Femme Bass Mafia, baumusik, and THF Radio.

Our next artist got behind the decks in early 2020, and she has never looked back. With her distinguished sound and approach to the craft of DJ-ing, she has wrapped her hands around several residencies (OOST, Ongehoord, Relate Radio) in Groningen and has had gigs at renowned venues and organizations such as Paradigm, POING, and VISION Recordings. 

Within her sets, anything goes as long as it's groovy, bassy, ravey, or all of the above. Characterised by blending contrasting structures such as experimental vs. danceable, electronic vs. organic elements, and light vs. dark while layering tracks to form unity and new shapes throughout her sets and applying devil-may-care experimentation in her mixing style. You’ll be cruising on fat basslines, old-school grooves, refined soundscapes, and infectious percussions, with some uplifting vocals and a sprinkle of funk to liven up the ride: end station undisclosed. 
Her latest iteration is no different; diving into her archives, she brewed a concoction of 140-172BPM bass-heavy & wobbly sounds, moody synths, and vocals, mixing down to a 4decks layered listening masterclass. 

She also works in the background within a few organisations to give back to the community and help (beginning) artists and organizers get the best out of themselves.
Next to that, she's working on her concepts, including Auditory Oasis on Relate Radio, an experimental approach to escapism to guide the listener into new musical realms.

Set, który zaprezentował w K-Bar Powiśle był połamaną, eklektyczną bombą z szorstkim, industrialowym zacięciem. Droga do niniejszego zaproszenia naszego gościa do Burn The Roots była prosta.
