Welcome back, Bengalfuel. Lou DiBenedetto & Joe LiTrenta began making music together around the end of 2009 and have released music on various labels such as Hibernate Recordings, Rural Colours, Lizard Breakfast and Twice Removed.

After their contribution to the RB100-series with "Kokolias" Bengalfuel are doing their next release on Resting Bell. "Neely" is meant to be a continuation of "Kokolias". Taking the general feeling and transferring it to a deeper and sometimes darker level. That doesn't mean that you get a dark ambient album. All pieces have their typically wonderful, atmospheric and melodic quality. But in some tracks you can find a darker mood, more chaotic elements or some unexpected turns.

"Neely" is a great album for these warm summer days (here in Germany). And you can compare it to the actual summer weather here. It is mostly warm and mild, but sometimes you can get heavy thunderstorms. Please enjoy and thanks a lot Lou & Joe.

Bengalfuel - She's Such a Darling

Darwin Raymond is primarily a guitar based musician currently residing in Columbus, Ohio.He has also released an EP on Audio Gourmet (Rien/Rain) and an album on FeedbackLoop (Night).

His new release on Resting Bell is called "Beyond The Shore, The Sea" and it is a wonderful album focusing on the ocean. Nine tracks with a complete duration of about 40 minutes. Darwin has focused on the overlap and interplay of memory with the present, which he explores by recording a base guitar track and immediately overdubbing it with additional tracks in order to pursue the feelings evoked by those few moments as they are occurring.

With his work he captured a depth and beauty which you can find again imaging the ocean, a windy shore and the power of waves and tides. Please enjoy!

Darwin Raymond - Beyond The Shore The Sea

After his wonderful release "Sending You Going" under the "The Accidental Psaltery"-moniker, "Waves" is Rick Tarquinio's second contribution to the Resting Bell-catalogue. This new EP contains two tracks with a complete duration of 25 minutes.

The pieces for "Waves" contain minimal source material arranged accidentally. Wave 1, dedicated to John Cage, uses the sequence of notes in his last name played in different octaves and rhythms on the bowed psaltery. Wave 2 contains six ascending triads – CFG, GCD, BbCF, FBbC, GCBb & DGC – played on alto melodica. These phrases, interspersed with varying amounts of silence, were randomly looped in AudioMulch and left to interact and phase until Rick felt each piece had run its course. Other than fades and volume, no editing was done. Processing consisted of granular synthesis, delay and reverb.

His inspiration for these pieces came from watching waves and wanting to evoke something similar musically.

Rick Tarquinio - Wave 1

Collin Thomas is back on Resting Bell with another wonderful piece of music. You might remember his first Resting Bell-contribution, the enormous 2 hour-piece "April Triptych", released in April 2011. Or one his other releases on labels like Impulsive Habitat, escala, Public Spaces Lab or Pocket Fields.

Collin's new RB-release "Score to a Quotidian Experience" is again a single track with a duration of 67 minutes. Quiet, Slow, and Distant, this piece is intended as an everyday-life soundtrack. It is the hope that the piece will be played during normal activities: cooking, reading, driving, sleeping, even listening to other music or watching TV. It is true background music that could be listened to with headphones in bed, but can be just as rewarding played on small speakers, being drowned out by the outside world.

Collin Thomas - Score to a Quotidian Experience

2012 will end the same way the year has begun: With a release by Summons of Shining Ruins. And it will be a double release. The first part is "Shiho". Most of you know this project by Shinobu Nemoto. He released his work on labels like Install, Experimedia, Dead Pilot Records, Analogpath, Against It Records or on his own imprint Moufu – Rokuon.

"Shiho" is a four track work with a total duration of 36 minutes. Shinobu only works with an electric guitar and a feedback device. And with this minimal setup he creates an amazing sharp and clear soundscape. Guitar tones are swirling around like snow flakes or gusts of frosty winter wind. Like his other works as Summons of Shining Ruins, "Shiho" has a very elemental and essential feeling. Stripped down to the bones and condensed to the essence.

Enjoy Shinobu's work in preparation of the holiday season and look forward to the second release, coming around the end of the year.

And here is the sibling of Shinobu's former release "Shiho". "Takeshi" was recorded with the same setup as "Shiho", an electric guitar and a feedback device, and also in it's duration it is quite similar, four tracks and about 35 minutes long.

Oscillating guitar tones, little shifts in tone an color, enjoy the extended trip into Shinobu's wonderful and exciting soundworld with both releases "Shiho" and "Takeshi".

Summons of Shining Ruins - Sakura

Do you remember lefolk's last RB-contribution "weather to shore" back in May 2011? So now he is back with a new, wonderful 8-track-album called "isn't this dangerous?". lefolk is audio/video artist Leif Folkvord of Ann Arbor, Michigan USA. He has released his album "intermitter" on NKR. His self-released material is available via audio.lefolk.com.

"isn't this dangerous?" is deep and moving 48-minute journey. A fading structure and slight beats in the back, layered with organic drones and soundcapes and melodic sprinkles, hisses and crackels on top. The album is inspired by the stories of the "lost cosmonauts". Weather true or not lefolk is fascinated by the idea of souls whom gave their lives in the pursuit of expanding the limits of mankind's reach yet have been forgotten to history or ignored all together.

lefolk - gennady

It is Saito Koji-time again. He worked with labels like Kokeshidisk, Somehow Recordings, SEM , taâlem, Magic Book Records, Kesh Recordings, Gears of Sand Recordings, Median Recordings and element perspective. And he already released eight previous releases via Resting Bell.

His latest contribution to the Resting Bell-catalog is really huge. It is a five hour work. 16 titles with a duration of 4:33 minutes each and five long forms with 39 minutes to 48 minutes. The sixteen short tracks play with a distorted and rough tone. Little guitar miniatures are hidden under a dense curtain of hiss and dust. The long forms are coming with a cleaner guitar sound, playing with extrem short patterns, soft droning waves or swirling melodies.
