Jellyfish is a haunting, orchestral descent into fragility, memory, and the slow unravelling of identity. With layers of guitars, ghostly strings, fractured piano and a myriad of synthesizer textures, the album captures Junkballer at their most vulnerable and cinematic. From the turbulent energy of “Brace Yourself” to the devastating stillness of “Hope You're Gonna Wait,” each track dissolves the boundaries between analogue warmth and digital disintegration. It’s a record that drifts like fog through emotional wreckage — political, personal, and planetary — wrapped in Junkballer’s complex arrangements and post-rock textures. The ep kicks off with Born to Be Loud, a song I first wrote over 20+ years ago when I was just learning to play, heavily inspired by Oasis’s Rock ’n’ Roll Star. Revisiting it from my old demo, I wasn’t sure it would make the cut—some of the lines feel a bit cheesy to sing now, two decades later—but it’s hard to deny it still works as a proper opener. Big, loud, and unapologetic, it sets the tone as a banger right from the start.
