Build the Walls Higher is the new EP from Maine-based singer-songwriter Alice Limoges, featuring five original songs as part of her 2025 Song-A-Month project.

The title track, “Build the Walls Higher,” is a groovy, soulful anthem with live drums, bass, B3 organ, trumpet, and powerful vocals. Inspired by a local political debate over a deteriorating dam and the rising tide of climate inaction and ideological division, the song serves as both a climate rally cry and a broader metaphor for the walls we build in society.

Perfectly Out of Tune – a quirky, DIY celebration of imperfect harmony featuring banjo, kazoo, and even a cheese grater
Maine Trees in Winter – a quiet, reflective duet with Georgia songwriter Anthony Cann

A World Away (Song for Syria) – a sequel to Limoges’s 2016 track “Aleppo”
The cover art for the EP was created by Frances Beynart, a Maine youth artist, as part of an 8th grade mural project on climate change and hope.
