@veralovely: FM = Frequency. Modulation. How is this a difficult concept? It's an LFO with the explicit purpose of modulating the frequency, the lfo can't do anything else. It becomes an FM synth when the LFO speed reaches the audible range, which the 2C33 can do.

Hi guys, I am more of a Sega Genesis dude with my chip music but I do dabble in famitracker from time to time. This here is one of my few FDS tunes and uses modulation in a very interesting way. I had to detune the pulse and triangle channel notes a bit to make everything match up but once I did everything sounded alright together. The only post processing this has is a tiny bit of reverb and delay, but I think it's a cool enough example of messing with the FDS to make interesting sounds. https://ucollective.org/audio/Jredd/star+light+fds/

Is that based on emulation or listening to real hardware? The levels are possibly better on the latter

Having recently celebrated its 30th anniversary, the Famicom Disk System was a peripheral device for the Nintendo Famicom that it allowed it to play games on floppy disk. With it, came an additional channel of sound. We take an up close look at how music was arranged for it, how the sound channel works, and share the FDS music we find most interesting.
