Unfortunately, the Z80 drivers in a lot of games had to process the FM and PSG as well as the PCM playback. In every frame (1/60 second) the FM & PSG driver has to run, which interrupts the continous PCM stream. That's why you get distortion in some games. The way to get around it is to dedicate the Z80 to PCM streaming, or to painstakingly insert calls to the PCM driver into the FM - PSG driver at timed intervals so that the sample playback doesn't get interrupted. Not many did that though.

That was a unused part of the Mega Man 3 soundtrack. The Wily castle intro is always cut off prematurely, and players NEVER get to hear this part in-game.

I never noticed before, but this "Ecco: Tides of Time" theme is very similar in chord progression to Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" in some parts.

I heard that the Mortal Kombat for Genesis outsold the SNES version by 3 times. The opposite was true of the sequel.
