This is the premiere of my piece Relief played by the Orchestra of the Swan and conducted by David Curtis at the Stratford Arts Centre on the 11th November 2014.

Probably one of our most "Ska-eee" songs of the set whilst also being in a major key and happy (await further recordings...). The lyrics tell of a confusing set of circumstances where two friends meet and discuss the possible outcomes of a romantic union.

This piece was written to accompany a projection on to a large building. The main feature of the piece is the phase. Made of three parts in varying lengths, the phase creates a sensation of continual change. If i was to allow the phase to run through its full cycle the recording would last for around an hour. Although the phase was important the secondary feature of the piece is the aspect of blending. Restricted to sounds from logic pro 9, I concentrated on blending sounds that, in isolation, sound cheap and nasty to create something a little more subtle.

Jurassic Park Theme (1000% Slower)

Mike Griffiths has been teaching art at the Wakeman School Shrewsbury since the 70's. He has always encouraged his pupils to 'Look Up!' and appreciate the richness of form and shape around them - to observe and create artwork.
I have always been swept away by his enthusiasm, and the creativity of the highest quality, he draws out from all he comes into contact with.
In the picture you can see us putting up ceramic windows around Shrewsbury, created by his pupils at Wakeman over  those years, to create the Look Up! trail around Shrewsbury. If you made a ceramic window whilst at the Wakeman School since the 70's, you may find it now on display! 
Unfortunately, the school is closing in July 2013.  The 'Look up!' trail will be a lasting tribute of the artistic eye that Mike Griffiths and  Wakeman School has given to our town.

The structure for this piece is based on the bus route that goes from Uxbridge to West Drayton. The performers are the Birmingham Conservatoire Saxophone Ensemble conducted by Dan Watson with Sam James on Celeste.
