Old Skool Techno Rave is a form of electronic dance music that took form in the early 90s. Stylistically, old skool techno rave is generally repetitive instrumental music, can include breakbeats, also shuffled drum machine patterns, old-school hoover sounds with the distinct techno synthesized melodies. The central rhythmic component is most often in common time (4/4), where time is marked with a bass drum on each quarter note pulse, a backbeat played by snare or clap on the second and fourth pulses of the bar, and an open hi-hat sounding every second eighth note. By the late 1980s and early 1990s, the original Detroit techno sound had garnered a large underground following in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. The growth of techno's popularity in Europe between 1988 and 1992 was largely due to the emergence of the rave scene and a thriving club culture. Producers from Detroit, frustrated by the lack of opportunity in their home country, looked to Europe for their future livelihood. This first wave of Detroit expatriates was soon joined by a number of up-and-coming artists, the so-called "second wave". Developments in American-produced techno between 1990 and 1992 fueled the expansion and eventual divergence of techno in Europe. Although eclipsed by Germany, Belgium was another focus of second-wave techno in this time period. The Ghent-based label R&S Records embraced harder-edged techno by "teenage prodigies" like Beltram and C.J. Bolland, releasing "tough, metallic tracks... with harsh, discordant synth lines.

Tamango Records release number 34 comes from an unstoppable force that's rising within the electronic music scene: FIRZA. The London-based duo has made a name for themselves with powerful releases on Hottrax, MicroHertz, and NATURE, rapidly becoming a fan-favourite among fans and DJs. Now, they make their Tamango Records debut with the EP titled "Lollipop".

Opening with "Lick It", the track is infused with rolling, euphoric UK energy, as raw bubbling bassline meets heavy shuffling drums and playful vocals, whilst "Lollipop" features razor-sharp percussions, bouncy bass licks, and echoed vocal chops, crafting a lively dancefloor anthem that reflects the pair’s signature sound.
