Setaoc Mass is the Manchester raised/Berlin based moniker behind SK_Eleven and a techno behemoth with the Midas touch. This gritty blend of driving techno and cerebral IDM is one that’s high on horsepower: dry, pummelling basslines, intricately layered hi-hats and sparse but gliding notes that add a softer touch. Unsurprisingly, this Setaoc sound has found a legion of loyal fans as well as fellow collaborators with a similar vision, names like Matrixxman and recent podcast guest Yant with which to bat ideas and release some straight-up bangers. For the purists though, Bassiani Podcast 165’s all Sam Coates: this one’s an hour long studio mix packed with fearsome, erratic beats, chopped-up vocals, frenzied loops and adrenaline-fuelled calculations to get those warehouse walls trembling.
