Welcome to the pilot episode for an independent podcast called "Nice Monster," coming in 2019. "Nice Monster" features true stories from the dark side of our impulse to be "nice."

In this episode, a nice woman named Andrea tries to do a generous favor for a friend and dog in need, but the chain of increasingly absurd and disturbing encounters she faces as a result make her reckon with the fact that there may be such a thing as "too nice."

Nice Monster was produced with the support of the inaugural BRIC Arts Media podcast producing fellowship.

And, in the second half, we experience a day in the life of a tireless grassroots organizer, a busy geothermal contractor, and a dedicated harbor steward. Seeing things from their perspectives makes a greener New York, with less dependence on fossil fuels, seem well within reach.
