We’re hyped to welcome the first edition of the Community, a show to represent close friends of Revamp to come and share some music & good vibes.

A very good pal of ours, Givvo, will be kicking off proceedings with a selection of the finest house, garage & hardcore tracks the granny flat has to offer. 

Whether he meant it or not, the overall feel of the mix is very closely matched with the nature of how his outings usually go down. It begins fairly measured, before descending into chaos & anarchy. We’re here for it.

Revamp Radio 002 // Community ft. Ethan Givvons

The next community radio outing comes from our good friend Jun who we met on the dancefloors of Manchester. Jun has since moved back to his native Hong Kong, running some sick raves with his collective “Lunar Tribe” which from what we’ve seen looks like a bloody good knees up! 

The first half of his mix is inspired by his time over in Manchester, which brings back some proper nostalgic vibes. The second half is anything and everything he has been rinsing at the moment!

For the 3rd edition of the Community radio show we have what might be one of our favourites that we’ve ever put out, provided by none other than Manchester based, Maracuya. Representing newly formed Radio City Radio & Not Bad For A Girl, Maracuya will take you through the wildest break & dub sounds, Latin infused footwork, & the rudest jungle rollers. Stay locked for a mint ride.

Yes Yes! For his first show on the channel, we're gassed to present the first episode of SHUT UP with our long time mate, The Illustration aka Amin. We've been really pleased to see that Amin's been making waves recently so we can't wait for him to showcase his sounds & the sounds he's been digging.

Expect new & unreleased weapons spanning the UKG & Bassline spectrum, with his how productions thrown into the mix for good measure. Amin's definitely sprinkled his wicked personality all over this one with some weighty wobbles & skippy grooves. We hope you enjoy :)

As with all the episodes of this series, the mix is a self contained 2 hour musical journey that focuses on a flow of everchanging moods and rhythms, exploring ambient, downtempo, chillout, house, some videogame soundtracks, some classics and electronica as a whole. This one has a triumphant sound, the final episode is here and it goes with a relaxing yet surprising fizz. Lots of wavey, weird and wonderful tracks, some with lots of energy, some not, but all positive energy, albeit with some wiggyness and melancholy thrown in. Guarenteed to get the emotions flowing and the head bopping.

Orainn 02 is the second release on R.Kitt’s imprint. After initially setting up the label to release previous material featuring in live sets from festivals and club gigs last year, this release consists of brand new tracks all put together after the world fell apart. In R.Kitt’s words

“I felt like a lot of that old music was too intrinsically linked to a time and setting that doesn’t feel in any way relevant anymore. The environment of spaces like dance clubs or big open festival fields full of thousands of people seems so far away and the horizon isn’t even in sight, and it feels weird to try and understand or comprehend music that was made for those settings in a meaningful emotional way right now. Instead, this release tries to draw out some of the feelings I’ve been experiencing since everything changed.”

Volatile emotion is at the core of each of the 4 tracks on this EP. The opener, Dance Zoned, is a naïvely hopeful, rollercoaster paced, breaks infused piece that tries to distil meditative moments of elation found during this time. Due To reflects a more post-apocalyptic vision, robotic and desolate but buoyed by melodic bursts that serve to break through the cold atmosphere with injections of warmth. It’s Leaving Me feels like it is both tragically sad yet peacefully accepting, reflecting on loss, growth and change. The EP is rounded out by Not That Way, a foot down, all speed, no chance of stopping kind of tune.

These are not just tunes for the club space, which obviously doesn’t exist at the moment in anyway that we were previously familiar with. But the music is intended to summon the same kind of emotional release that we experienced in those spaces, in whatever environment you want, until we return.
