Amelie Lens’ event series / label hybrid sets the pace for the rest of the year with a formidable lineup of artists on this compilation, soon to be followed with the Exhale family debuting its party series in none other than the revered DC10 in Ibiza this summer.

Label head Amelie Lens opens with her signature vocals in the fiery but haunting ‘All Of You’ and is followed by three formidable producers. Dark techno dynamo Proxyma continues with breakneck speed with ‘Schwarze Funktion’, while Basswell’s composition ‘Troublemaker’ injects a mischievous energy. Caravel follows with textural banger ‘Queen of Darkness’, armed with volatile keys and a warbling, warped bassline.

Exhale mainstay Farrago is up next with tight percussion and slick sound fragments dancing around the harder elements of his production ‘Hard Dimension’. Berlin’s Mython contributes ‘Double Defender’, a driving cut with a muscular groove and walloping bass. Taking the reins next is Arma, who uses rave stabs, reverbs and metallic synths to create eerie stomper ‘Seraphin’. Krl Mx doesn’t hold back with sinister synths and a ferocious kick & bass combo in galloping cut ‘Before I Forget Your Voice’. Roüge contributes ‘Ratchet’ - a gut-punching track with a grizzly bassline and melodic bleeps.

On the last leg of the record, with ‘I’m From 1994 Dude’ Nico Moreno features a true Moreno production with industrial elements and a slamming acid sequence. ‘What U Get’ by Ley Mar is next with scuffed metal textures, minimal rave stabs and rumbling, dark synths. X-Alox picks up the pace with ‘260%’ an energetic weapon with chaotic drum sequences and a sharp sliced-up vocal breakdown at the mid-way point. Lucinee & Lifka team up for galactic track ‘In Rage’, with an echoed vocal hook, resounding alarm and rolling kick drum. On a high with spiking synths, stretched out melodies and a pulsating kick that entrances listeners down to the final beat Swart lastly closes the compilation.

Nico Moreno - I'm From 1994 Dude

This Digital Diamonds episode presents MARCIANA, a DJ project from Marcia, a Brazilian based in The Netherlands, who is also known as Back to Mars. Having started her journey as DJ Back to Mars in 2001, she soon was also playing sets in more styles. It became a natural development to have a separate project to represent these styles and Marciana was created. Also a producer, her tracks have been released on Electric Power Pole Records and directly on her Bandcamp page. Outside the decks, she is the booker of the musical line ups from Ruigoord - Trance Orient Express and Solstice, both targeting Psytrance. She also books the "Trance Orient Express Alternative" nights and "Deep", which are concepts focused in Psy-Techno and Progressive Techno in Amsterdam. Marciana's drive is to inspire people, and her sets are a mix of energies between her, the public and the sound, creating a musical story on the spot.

The phenomena of DEKEL is not easy to explain in words, but when you listen to his music, everything adds up. Every track of the ‘Junior Shaman’ It is a perfect combination of tension and intelligent beat drops wrapped with a deep psychedelic atmosphere. In a very short time since launching the project, DEKEL managed to create a real sound signature and a solid fan base. His 1st EP ‘Technoid’ was one of the most successful debut releases in the history of HOMmega records and DEKEL became a local sensation in the Israeli scene. The EP was followed by deep banger tunes like ‘Magneto’ and ‘Twister’ which gave DEKEL an international recognition. DEKEL is already touring excessively around the world and 2019 is expected to be a very busy year for him as the work on his anticipated debut album is already in process as well.

Helmed by SHDW & Obscure Shape, From Another Mind has maintained its reputation as one of techno’s most exciting platforms since its launch in 2014. When not releasing on their own high quality label the duo continues to release music via respected imprints like Dynamic Reflection and Rekids. They’re also in demand remixers having been invited by Phantasy to remix Daniel Avery ‘Projector’ and Boysnoize to remix Djedjotronic ‘Take Me Down’, not to mention Rekids for separate renditions of two legendary Radio Slave tracks, ‘Vision’ and ‘Grindhouse’. Together they share a paralleled vision for techno without setting any boundaries which is suitably reflected in all their releases and performances. 

‘Die Zunge Des Todes’ kicks off with vast synth waves fluttering over the emphatic kicks and tense modulations giving off an energetic yet captivating atmosphere to begin. ‘Bisswunden’ tastefully delivers driving percussion, otherworldly oscillations and energetic melodies transcending the emotions into a hypnotic state before progressing into ‘Blick Des Bösen’ through clattering drum grooves pacing around haunting atmospheres. ‘Kein Entkommen’ finishes things off with a breakstinged beat, mystical tones and alleviating sound design.

I've just started my residency with WATB at Newcastle's Digital Friday. This week i'll be going a bit darker and harder for Dense and Pika, before bringing it back down a for the WATB Motion run. 

The end of this year i am playing harder sets, headlining Bristol's Blue Mountain and Cardiff's Vault's this NYE.
