Deniro - MPC Tracks EP [REFLEKT014] forthcoming April 15th

Stepping boldly out of the shadows in which Techno usually dwells, Fireground's second release for Tresor is a refreshing step into the light.

The Neapolitan duo take their influence from the full spectrum of late-90s electronic luminaries, skillfully focusing them into five tracks that surpasses mere homage and feels fresh when contrasted with the darker tones of most contemporary Techno.

"Dreams" EP lays out an almost summery scene from the get-go with French Touch-esque filtered loops and percussion rhythms that would make any 90s UK Techno club come alive. Bright and fresh this music may be, but make no mistake: it still hits hard enough for any dance floor.

Aptly chosen for the final track, Dense Blue conjures the sensation of a sunset falling over the EP, with shades of New Age and Fourth World styles that close out the release with a dramatic change of pace.

As with all Tresor 30 releases, the cover art has been selected from the artists' own collection. Their choice of a photo of sweet treats re-enforces the sense of playfulness and joy threaded throughout the release.

Fireground - United

Our latest premiere is now online featuring a track titled 'Gaborone West Groove' from our close friend and Lepton head honcho, Ngoni Egan.

Now based in Rotterdam, the Irish artist debuts on United Identities with a five-track EP that pays tribute to his roots, diving into Ngoni's familial heritage in Botswana and explores his sound beyond electro.

After years of practice in the studio, Ngoni's innate skill to blend electro, techno and percussive textures really comes to light on "Re Teng" with 'Gaborone West Groove' in particular rumbling through with a huge bassline and snappy percussion.

The first premiere of the day comes from one of our favourite techno artists right now, Berlin based Chontane. Having previously released on ARTS, Voltage, Rekids & more, the youngster now arrives on Lobster Theremin with a 4 track EP that blurs the lines between techno, electro and breaks. We premiere ‘Art Of Survival’, a thundering high octane 90’s inspired techno tool.

Chontane has been immersing himself in techno for many years, experimenting with various styles and niches, and evolving his eclectic palette for high energy electronic music. Growing up in Berlin Chontane found himself obsessed with techno’s underground subculture, the young DJ started playing regularly at the early age of nineteen kicking things off with a residency at the Krach nights in Humboldthain and then playing some of the cities most revered clubs, including: Tresor, :// About Blank and OHM.

With his first record release in 2018 still receiving praise and support, Chontane has wasted no time in reaffirming his capabilities. With another successful collaborative release on Magic Power with WERK co-founder J.Manuel and a 4 track EP on the Special Projects sub-label of Radio Slave’s Rekids imprint. The young producer is constantly blurring the lines between techno, breaks and electro in the capital; breaking down some of the perceived barriers that were once there.

Now Chontane brings his colourful and energetic brand of blurred techno to Lobster Theremin’s White series with four hedonistic and mind-altering weapons. Chontane goes hard on the final track Art Of Survival as he focusses on jarring breakbeat grooves and growling low end power. The star of the show is the gleaming lead that has just a touch of French house flair. This is sure to tear up any dance-floor it touches.

They shared a common interest, which helped to build a strong bond between them. It gave them purpose and a shared sense of accomplishment as they worked towards their goals.

They were united by the music, and nothing could ever change that.
