Really deep vibe to this track, the use of the reverb on the synth in the intro adds nice depth to the track. Do feel that at times the mix feels a bit saturated, working further on the tightness of the drum work and the overall balance of the sounds will create a cleaner mix. The snare drum feels a bit weak and dull, making sure it's punchy will add to the tightness of the mix. Still, the emotional value of the track is great. Keep at it! Spectre, the latest opus from
Red Traces rages with sonic violence.

"Up until the 90’s we lived in the spectre of a sophisticated nuclear
war, and now it continues in places like the Crimean Peninsula.
Strange and heavy injustices and fear persist. The song is a

Red Traces deploys heavily compressed synths, with a lot a space that
creates the effect of being heard inside a massive colosseum.
A relentless, industrial throbber, knocking at the gates of the
underworld.

Red Traces - Spectre

At the heart of this mix lies the authentic Ukrainian folk polyphony, painstakingly researched and astonishingly performed by the Drevo ensemble. I put it into the broader European context, complementing it with unconventionally raw Early Music recordings by Graindelavoix and Ensemble Organum, as well as some helpful bridging-the-gap digressions, like traditional Sardinian polyphonic singing by Tenores de Oniferi, eastern orthodox hymns brought to life by the Kyiv Chamber Choir and recent renditions of the Ukrainian baroque partes-songs by the Partes Ensemble.

Since 1948 to present, Israel’s culture of ethnic cleansing and dispossession of Palestinian Land has devised a perpetual cycle of expulsion. Millions of first, second and third generation refugees continue to inhabit camps, doomed to an impoverished exile. Over a million Palestinians have been killed in exodus from Zionist imposed famine, poverty and displacement, with no right to return to their homeland.

The photographs taken during the Nakba, mirror those taken today of the Palestinians who are being forcibly displaced from Gaza.

This release is dedicated to the men, woman and children who continue to navigate their exile in limbo.

To the woman who innovated our textiles and wrote the history and culture of Palestine with their needles.  

To the men who planted our olive and orange trees, harvested by strange hands.

To the children who had their childhood stolen, separated from the umbilical cords that once connected them to their land.

To the Palestinians who have died in exile, that never...  more

Soda Gong is pleased to present a razor sharp collection of rigorous and imaginative new music from Moscow-by-way-of-St. Petersburg-based musician and producer Flaty. “Generic TARGZ” places Flaty’s precipitously complex drum programming and keen ear for atmosphere and space at the forefront, offering up a dynamic array of techno, ambient, generative footwork, and other tougher to pigeonhole rhythmic experiments. It is a dizzying and cohesive document in which ethereal productions, such as “Praaai” wherein a bewitching vocal pad hovers over delicate, pin-prick percussion, sit comfortably alongside tightly controlled chaos, as with the synapse-knotting "Thread" and heavy-hitting “Horn of Plenty.” Over the past few years, Flaty has released a wealth of diverse and uniformly excellent music under monikers such as AEM Rhythm Cascade, Dada Ques, and Wrong Water. He is most closely associated with the influential GOST ZVUK label, but his work has also appeared on imprints such as 12th Isle, Muscut, and his own ANWO Records. Although Flaty serves as his primary alias, "Generic TARGZ" is only the artist's second full-length under the moniker, following 2016's "New Suggestions," a high-water mark in the impeccable GOST ZVUK catalog. Mastered by Rashad Becker at D&M.
