"As we tend to sing together in our music, the left/right separation was an inspiring way to push ourselves far apart, and write a song about two people who can't be together. We wanted the music to replicate this yearning that things could be different - pushing pointlessly against a brick wall of separation. In the end the voices fade but elements of the stereo field start to blend again. There is a kind of sad final rest."

"The infamous ‘klang’ within the context of DJing refers to the occurrence of two mixed, out-of-sync rhythms that clash with one another. It is often perceived as a mistake, an unwanted, undesirable collision of unsyncopated beats. Klang (Between Two Rhythms) explores this sonic phenomenon, attempting to liberate the notion of clashing rhythms from its pejorative connotations. The work sees two evolving rhythmic patterns and textures (one for the left speaker, and one for the right speaker). The patterns mimic, klang, and interweave with one another creating a turbulent journey that situates the listener between the two rhythms, challenging them to find a space between the speakers where they can lock into a coherent groove or maybe embrace the jarring chaos by moving around the space. Physical space is used as a medium for pushing the cyclical essence of club music to intriguing extremes."

"Halftime Show is an ethereal and emotive exploration of sounds and their half-time counterparts. The listener acts as the crossfader between an uptempo and downtempo version of the same song, where one side adheres to presence and syncopation, and the other towards space and sustain. The resulting effect is that the listener can experience a feeling of slowing down or speeding up as they traverse between each speaker in a room, choosing to groove to club-inspired rhythms, sink into drawn-out and ambient soundscapes, or freely find their own pace in the space in between."

"The first intense sunlight of the year broke through the shrouds of winter and lit up the faces of friends, who soaked it up as much as they could. Birds sung, the first glimpses of nature were emerging. Glossy crocuses had already pushed through the grass near gravestones, moss glistened next to still cold silver lakes and I wanted to touch it all and whisper a mantra to new life. This track explores this feeling of cosmic spring. A lot of space is left open in the track as if waiting to be filled out, you being there amongst the sounds is enough to do that."

"Common Ground started with the idea that the two speakers are characters getting to know each other.  I thought a lot about who they were, what they wanted from each other, and what influence they had on each other. It’s a piece about exploring difference, about how friendships and relationships can sometimes reinforce our existing traits, but often require us to change.  In my experience, the latter is true of more meaningful connections.  I think my characters are curious about each other.  They interact with each other playfully, furtively at first before finding their way to common ground and celebrating it."
