For our last episode of 2023, we invited Berlin based Marina aka VIDO.!

The lovely Marina is a versatile artist. She is also known by her aliases M-Drive and the dj duo Mara Vilu where she’s part of. She also created her very own Metro Drive label where she released both her own as music from befriended artists. 

She has been living and shaping the Berlin underground scene for a decade now. And is now taking on responsibility as part of the Berlin "Nachtboutique" crew to keep things lively. Aswel as playing all over Europe for different parties and clubs. 

Thru the digital world we got in contact and asked her to select some of her records for our Sssshhtcast.

#microsession 055 - Arrioondas (ES)

If we could only understand the language spoken by the trees around us…. If we could only vibrate on the same frequency as the crystal clear water springs… Until we evolve enough to truly understand what nature has to say to us, the best thing we can do is to connect to the spirit of Waha, one amazing gathering that takes place somewhere in the heart of wild Transylvania. This is the reason we launch a series of mixes, exclusively prepared by a handful of artists we will have the chance to listen at Waha Festival in 2024

Opening up the WahaLand Stories, Katsuya Sano, the Japanese electronic scene veteran (also known under the Ekbox moniker, used to sign releases for Cabaret) brings 1 hour of electro flavoured grooves (with a touch of progressive here and there), pumping up raw energy in every cell of our mortal bodies.

Archipel Musique is excited to introduce you to a new podcast by an artist from Austria: Siili.


siili, whose real name is Oliver, is a DJ and producer based in Vienna who has been creating music for almost 15 years. Born in Vienna, he has constantly developed musically over the years. Originally starting with deep and tech house, he has increasingly developed musically and personally in a more minimalist direction since his early 30s. Jazzy and especially organic tracks from the Micro House / Minimal House genres with a strong Romanian, but also dark touch are nowadays his favorite way of playing in longer sets. Today, extensive tension curves clearly have priority over danceability and high-energy. The same character is also present in his productions. Although he is now in his mid-30s and has a small family and dances at numerous other parties alongside his music, electronic music and its scene continue to have a consistently high priority for him. The vinyl lover is still regularly active as a DJ for Grätzlsound and other collectives. He is also the mastermind behind the "Hör Ma Sich" listening sessions, which he passionately organizes and hosts and which were initiated with Grätzlsound in the summer of 2022. So anyone who thinks you slow down in your thirties - you've been proven wrong.

Siili and Grätzlsound have inspired the Montreal equivalent of Sweet Spot, started by Pheek in 2024.

OUTDOMMIX #21: BLANĂ

This session was retrospective at the time that I mixed it, a living room session - 2014. 

Here's the story:

I was at home one afternoon 2014. I'd had my first baby, and while I'd been mixing some very fresh minimal using Traktor timecode vinyl, I had not mixed from my record bags for a few years. It felt really good to flip through our favourite records once again. This is a collection of just a few of our most special tracks from our early Motion:Theory:Music years - primarily at our 8 year Saturday night residency at Elsewhere on the Gold Coast from the early 2000s, a night which we started as the club opened - created by the incredible Simmy and Benny.  

The club won 'Best Music for a Club in Australia' at the Sydney Bar Music Awards during our time there when Ben was Musical Director. We were told our deep underground vibes could not work on the coast, but we remained true to the sound and never played 'down' to the audience, instead bringing an integrity to their flashing dancefloor, alongside the other residents Audun and Giv.   

I speak of Ben Abrahams, my musical partner, and father of our 2 boys.  He is one of Australia's early East Coast djs, & is much respected among djs & punters; he coined the phrase 'blurring the line between house & techno'.  Around 2000, he became resident of the infamous outdoor party Earthcore, bringing clubby sounds to the forest ravers, primarily used to trance music.  He had a Saturday night and Sunday night residency at Onesixone that went off' all in the days before social media.  

Most of these tracks we have danced to SOOO many times from 1998 through to 2009, so they effect my body memory intensely. Such memories of epic nights dancing for hours and hours and hours with all my friends; we had such authentic connections, so regularly, and then our intimate group moved onto our house to continue djing all of Sunday. I feel so lucky to have experienced that time. The bongos, the dubby basslines, the clubby vibes, the few super scratchy records, all make me get tingly and emotional.  I used to call the tracks I was drawn to play 'sideways house'.   

Ben played 5 hour vinyl sets every Saturday night for this extended period, and his mastery is well known.  Some of these are Ben's records, but became the basis for my set: stored in my record box. Ben is so clever at combining the best of the old with the new, & our appreciation of music is at the core of our connection, as it is with all our friends, old & new.
