Alan speaks from Ezekiel 37: 1-14 and addresses spiritual complacency in the church. It is only openness to the Spirit who makes us alive to Jesus. The 'good' thief dying on the cross next to Jesus recognised his truth, but could not physically do anything or give him anything - he could only ask for salvation. Jesus accepted him. Sheer grace is all we have.

The crowds that followed Jesus and his ministry through Galilee and finally up to Jerusalem tended to do one of three things: 
•	Some flatly ignored him
•	There were those who loved him, stuck by him, but ran away when things got tough
•	There were those who embraced Jesus, but became easily distracted by other things and melted away
Jesus demands that we make a decision about him.
