Pon De Beats: Spring Edition was originally planned as an IRL event in Arnhem, Netherlands at the end of March 2020. Of course you can probably know what happened, but the Pon De Beats crew weren't willing to let a stupid virus pandemic stand in the way, and still ended up running the majority of the show a few months later from Club Willemeen, to a fully online audience.

Unfortunately being stuck outside of mainland Europe, I wasn't able to join in with the festivities in person, so I played my set from the comfort of my home instead.

To avoid any potential genre overlap with the other DJs, I decided to play a set of mostly Japanese happy hardcore from the mid 2000s, the era when I first got into it. There's quite a few rarities in this one, especially as some of the tracks never got a full release and were kindly sent to me by the producers themselves.

Rest in peace Buzzmasta and Blasterhead. 🕯
