Fusing underground weight with a subversive edge, Los Angeles-based @mesck stands as one of dubstep’s most consistently forward thinking artists. Driven by rugged basslines and heavy riffs, his signature style merges a crate-digging mentality with modern technical precision.

Mesck’s ‘Blackletter’ EP marks the debut of @ruins_corp, a bass music imprint he co-founded with @woventhorns. As the namesake represents, RUINS evokes remnants of an increasingly eroding subculture. The label offers a defiant perspective on dubstep, drum & bass, and beyond in response to the commodification of underground dance music.

Shaping visions of a dystopian future through industrial textures and crushing grit, ‘Blackletter’ is a force for raw, system-focused sound. 'FUTURE FORMS, VOL.2'

So stoked to release "Encompass", which is a journey of a tune, a track equal parts heavy and jazzy. One day in practice we were jamming on this future bass sketch with a double-time 2nd drop switch-up, when the idea for the fast chorus riff popped into my head. It was pretty ambitious, but Keith and I felt it would be really cool if we could swing it. Between the chorus melody line and Aarons blazing-fast dnb drumming in the 2nd half, this track has pushed the limits of our abilities as a band, as well as my own personal keyboard abilities. Not only is this our tribute to bands like Chon and Polyphia, it's really just our first forray into that sound, which we hope to explore more further on future releases.

Mr. Bambú is a PNW artist who has been making a name for himself by playing gritty, wonky dubstep and high-energy DnB, with a sprinkle or two of throwback moments. In his free time, he focuses on creating a wide range of bass music like Dub, UK Grime, DnB, Hybrid Trap, Experimental Bass, and West Coast Bass. He has played events such as Beyond Wonderland at the Gorge, Wormhole Wednesday, Freaknight Festival, Paradiso Festival, and Bass Canyon. He has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with some of his most prominent influencers, such as Champagne Drip, Sully, Stylust, Ahee, TVBO, Blanke, Liquid Stranger, and more!
