Salty Sea [2024 Remaster]

"The Story of Aidan" is a song that captures the deep, mystical connection between life and nature. For me, this piece speaks to the cyclical beauty of existence, much like the ocean itself, constantly in motion, yet always at peace. My voice blends with Emily Johnson’s in a way that feels natural, almost like two currents coming together, each bringing its own strength and depth. Together, we wanted to create an atmosphere that transports you to a space where every note and every sound speaks to the eternal rhythm of life and our profound love for the natural world.

The cello, guitar, and piano form a rich, organic foundation, almost like the earth itself: solid, grounding, and alive. These instruments are blended together with our voices, which complement and enhance one another throughout the song, much like how the ocean meets the shore in perfect harmony. My background as a marine biologist has taught me to appreciate the quiet, unspoken language of nature, and I wanted that same serenity and reflection to shine through in this song.

This song is our way of sharing that quiet, yet powerful harmony between nature and the soul.

The Story Of Aidan (feat. Emily Johnson)

The build up of melody with different instruments are describing an ocean of emotions felt across the time about a love relationship that did not work out.

The repeated refrain represents arguments to express disappointments regarding communication issues within the couple with even many attempts to solve them without success.

The last part represents the cutoff of the love relationship literally breaking it up and moving away with hopes to have a better one on the way.

Short Melodies is a brief attempt at a melody, my first piano recording with a tiny soft touch on auto-tune to electric guitar. I wanted to capture a melancholic and quiet mood, without too many embellishments; just a few simple but heartfelt chords. It’s a piece that explores subtle thoughts and emotions, an invitation to introspection and calm. I hope you enjoy it, that it brings you a moment of pause, and perhaps even inspires you in your own inner journeys.

"The Wisdom of Barnyard Love" is a smooth blend of jazz and folk with a touch of romance, offering a playful, laid-back vibe. This song is my way of wrapping a life lesson in a cozy, lighthearted story; one that is both joyful and reflective. I wanted to create a fable disguised as a love song, speaking to both grown-ups and kids alike. It's a tale about chasing the glitter of fantasy only to find that true contentment lies in the simplicity we often overlook.

The Wisdom Of Barnyard Love

When I start playing "Pale Memories Of Wisdom," I gently press the piano keys, letting each note breathe and find its place in the air. I want you to know, as a listener, that this is not just a melody; it’s like an open window into thoughts lost in time, where pale memories and moments filled with hidden meaning reside.

As the piece unfolds, you might sense a subtle sadness, but it’s a sadness filled with respect, with quietness. It’s as if each note touches a hidden corner of the soul, where we keep what once was and still hold dear. I’ve chosen chords that resonate subtly, like a whisper or a distant echo from someone who’s learned to look back without regret.

In the middle sections, you may feel a gentle warmth, hope slipping between the notes like a ray of light filtering through autumn leaves. This is the part where, even in moments of deep silence, I feel there is a future waiting to be discovered.

As the piece nears its end, I return to the main theme, softer now, as if putting a period on a story that will remain, from now on, in quietude. Maybe what I played is about me, maybe it’s about you, but I hope each note accompanies you in your own memories, your own inner journey.

Pale Memories Of Wisdom

This composition is a piece of my heart, originally created during one of the darkest periods of my life when I was struggling and contemplating ending it all. It was meant as a final message, a musical letter to those I love, capturing everything I felt but couldn’t put into words. Though it was deeply personal, I decided to share it in hopes that it resonates with others who have faced similar struggles or are still struggling. May it serve as a reminder that even in our darkest moments, there’s beauty in expressing what we feel. Thank you for listening.
