I did a couple quick tunes last week and by your response You all were quite underwhelmed.  So a new week comin and I've got some traditional 3 piece blues to do. One was really rockin. But my machine malfunctioned and I lost the whole track. (this has happened a couple times now) But  stay tuned!  Goodness shall return!  
These 3 piece songs are traditional in 'form' but not substance.  peace

I realize that  a lot of my songs don't follow a typical format.  Sometimes that's on purpose? Other times It's just as the song unfolds itself in my head. I know other outsider songwriters do that as well so I can feel somewhat stable over strange outcomes. I just hope you listeners can stay with me, even if I sound like I've taken way too many psychedelics. Truth is? Like 1974 was my last excursion into that area. It was monotonous.  I'm not soley into abstract melodies. I like harmonies. But sometimes I can't produce them cause my voice won't do what I want it to...But I/m way past 21.  (Thanks Mr.  Morganfield)

I pulled "Push 2" out of the Q. I didn't realize the final version turned out that terrible. I'm fixing the vocals on Push 1 so you can understand the lyrics from the song not just the lyric notes...

I got an opportunity to hear Sweeter  this morning and the vocal totally blows. So I'm re mixing that and adjusting some of the instrumental parts as well. After which, I'll put it back up....
Sometimes after I've been working on a song for hours, I don't always hear it in it's entirety. After a nights sleep, If I turn it on, and like it? It stays. If I don't, it either gets reworked, or goes into the trash bin. Thanks for your patience.

i was born in 1950 on the Banks of the Mississippi River in Moline Illinois. I've lived all over the US (except the desert SW) Iwas told most of my life that I' never amount to nothing.  I could get a job (as a laborer, or trainee) and keep the job. I didn't finish High School. But I got a GED and that allowed me to get some doors open as far as employment.  But since I heard Ray Charles sing "What'd I say?"  I was hooked on music. Being as dumb as a box rocks, it took a year or so for me to learn how to tune my guitar.  I was like 15 years old when I got into a garage band. The most difficult song we played was wooly Bully. (my alcoholic mother loved that song) I just kept plugging along. Soon I was playing Beatles and Stones stuff.  But never doing exact copies of the records. I was way too stupid to figure the exact way to do that. I saw Buffalo Springfield when I was 16 or so. Jim Messina knocked me out Then? I was 19 and I got to see Johnny Winter.  That pretty much eclipsed any other. guitarists I'd heard to that point.  I started learning how to play blues and rocking blues.  I saw Yes and Jethro Tull in early 70's Yes's guitarist Steve Howe was astounding. Martin Barre seemed to be the perfect fit for JT. I kept playing in various garage bands where ever I lived. New York, California, Florida... Where ever I could get a gig. I never got thrown out of any band.  They all seemed to like what I played. However none of it was orthodox. In 1990 I began working in  a steel pipe manufacturing plant. The money was too good to leave . I had a wife and kids, and a mortgage.  If I'd still been on my own? I'd dump that job for more and better bands. I was getting to the place where my playing was getting some good critical notice locally.

It's difficult to envision the future, when the present seems so tenuous.  Life's been like that for me since July 23rd 1950, the year I was born.
I'm glad I discovered music.  I can project myself into another reality as songs begin and move toward their end.  Then a new world opens up, and I'm projected into a new space and time. When one gets old? This is especially comforting. Please go through my song list's? If you hear something that you can relate to? Let me know!  And if the opposite is true? 7/26/24      Hello! Good Friday to ye pilgrims!
I just wanted to add here that If my music doesn't come off as "professional"  that's because I'm what's called an "Outsider Songwriter" Sorta like Captain Beefheart,  Or say Unknown Hinson. Except I'm nowhere as polished as those dudes were/are. The only music lessons I've had are 'find middle C' on the piano in kindergarden. And a Mel Bay book called "Learn the Guitar"  (I used that information to be able to sort of tune my 35 dollar Kay acoustic guitar.) And now I'm an old man, and here I am! (huh?) please enjoy my compositions, peace always



I want to thank every one of you who have liked my songs, followed me, and gave me the confidence to forge ahead.  NOTHING GOOD proceeds from inactivity.  I'm not gonna be around that much longer, and I want to get my music out to people who appreciate an old geezer like myself, never giving up. Thank You all!  and Bless your pea picken hearts.

6/22/24   Good Sunday Morning to you!  I want to know? Should I continue writing and recording these songs?  I mean I detect "some" interest, but it isn't overwhelming. Let me know?  I have had a lot of "plays" but not a lot of "likes"  So I'm not in this for the fame or noteriety. I am however in this to get an income for the wife after I'm unalived.  She has counted on my coughing up at least 50% of our monthly income for 36 years. I probably won't be around another 36. So? I had em stash all my music sales so she has something later in time. Why did I do this? Well I married the woman in 1989. Since that time she's been here for me, and I for her. With me gone?  The world is a cruel and uncaring place generally. So, thats whats up with my music. I've always thought I sucked. But other people told me they liked my stuff.  It beats fixing cars, or being a janitor. (2 things I've done in the past inbetween 'good' paying positions.) So there you have my whiney story....

5/17/24  Old Hippy, plays guitar, bass, harmonica, some keys. Is a lifetime anti war activist. Has had 2 lives. 0-38  paranoid abused childhood, teenage years moved to 10 different cities with parents. (father bureaucrat) married @ age 26. 2 sons. One deceased. divorced @age 34 remarried, had one daughter. Divorced 8 months later. at age 37 entered drug and alcohol rehab. Stayed sober since that time. remarried 1989 and still married to the same woman. Had one other daughter. Played music since I was 15 yrs old. began selling personal compositions 1998 on CD  baby. Still at it. Loves sobriety, and grandkids, and of course the exellent wife. 5/18/24  Hey? Thanks for all the wonderful plays!!  I was astonished!

2/17/24  I didn't get to hear a clean version of Actions. It just became a remix and a remaster. The vocal is shit and I missed a lot of good places to put in better licks...

1/15/24   i'M NOT WHINING... But it's a lot harder to create music, record the parts, write lyrics, mix and master it, then push it out on the end of the platform for maybe others to pick up on, and be groovin on yer homegrown music.  I'm nobody. No brilliant musician. I just know what trips my trigger, and I try to stay in that general area musically. I'm 73 years old now, half of my faculties need electronic assistance to accomplish anything (ie.  eye glasses. hearing aids, insulin, pain killers, (for razor sharp neurapathy) AND my genuinely  twisted personality (one minute thinking "hey get off my goddamned lawn, and stay away from my car" to "Bless you all sweetly, may your good karma grow exponentially and your death and rebirth cycles end ib this trip around the sun."  I appreciate you all, especially when you listen to my music over & over again for days at a time.  That makes me feel good about myself, and my art!  Please keep showing up!  Peace

The song Direwolf, came from my wanting to get more free flowing melodies, with licks with effects that enhanched the straight chord progressions, and took the music outside the block created stereotypes.
I'd taken a new tack in playing advanced effects driven scratch melodies. I see where I over did some elements, and missed a few good hamonic tie ins.  Having a mangled picking hand makes these efforts to have clarity, a tight struggle. I like to be free to go where the mood takes me. But without the ability to flow with the feeling, I truncate a lot of nice areas.

I put a cover version of Come On Everybody.  I've been so depressed over a battleship full of personal issues, that it basically sucked. I'll re mix it, and repost it. but right now? I feel like I'm in a million disjointed pieces...

I did some experimental junk like Gas music from Uranus, and Kool-Ade (which just took down) It came to be because I was emptied of 4 abd 5 cord conventional melodies. Sorry if you thought it sucked. I did too.
