Episode 502 is a bucket list moment for me, I'm featuring a mix from one of the best producers, Mutt! 

Mutt's mix features tons of dubs, newer, and older tunes! This mix has so many different vibes, everything from atmospheric amens, lush, liquid tracks, and rollers!! Such an honor to feature this unbelievable mix!! Mutt crushes this one!

Let's meet our dj for episode 502, Mutt:

1. Where did the sample come from on the track, Hot Lick Squeeze? Such a tune BTW.

The sample comes from an old Delfonics track called “I Gave To You”, it’s a soul slow jam type track which The Delfonics are known for. It came off there self-titled 1970 album on Philly Groove.

2. Tell us about upcoming releases and upcoming gigs you're stoked about.

Well, the last tune I released with my homey Kelmo (https://soundcloud.com/kelmomusic) was a ragga jungle amen type track. It came out on a dope Toronto label called 9D5Dance (https://soundcloud.com/9d5dance). It also featured a really dope speed garage mix by Lamont Dex (https://soundcloud.com/lamontdex). Really happy to see this genre make a comeback in recent years.

Gigwise, I have been taking a bit of a break, but slowly getting back into it. I am playing a drum’n’bass set in Toronto next month (my first one for years). Mostly I have been focusing on the label I run with Kelmo and my homey Graham Barge. We started LATELY BASS during the pandemic, it’s a multi-genre label so expect everything from house to drum’nbass to garage….

I would say if it’s a late-night-after-the-club-burrito, that’s a move to Burrito Boyz.

If it’s a brunch type ting….Fresh Kitchen!!!! They have a very dope assortment of homemade hotsauces…
