I felt like recording an aria today. The tone of the piece pretty much matches the tone of this entire year (for me, anyway). 2016 has given us some bleak moments, but it's also given us beautiful moments. 
Over the past few months-- this week especially--there's been a lot of fighting and intolerance. It's hard to process, but music helps me work out my feelings pretty well. 
"The Trees on the Mountain" is my favorite American  aria, and I probably haven't done it justice, but WHATEVAH lol. I made this version a cappella for 2 reasons: 
1) I like playing with vocal  harmonies
2) I can't play the piano to save my goddamn life
