Some songs are created to release emotions – whether heavy or uplifting. But sometimes, a song is born out of something even greater: pure joy and love.

One early summer morning I was babysitting my grandson. We started the day with his favorite show on TV – Babblarna – but he quickly grew tired of it. It was only around six or seven in the morning, so we went into my little home studio and began to play around together. I laid down a few chords and a straight bassline to follow them. And as always, I couldn’t resist sneaking in at least one random plonk. Finally, I added a simple kick. We sat there listening to what I call a Work Pattern.

Vincent looked content, and in that very moment, while the music was playing softly in the background, a melody appeared in my head – filled with joy and love. I stopped, recorded it, and played it back.

What happened next will forever remain a warm memory. Little four-month-old Vincent lit up, became completely excited, and started singing in his own way. There was no question – I had to capture this moment forever, recording his voice and letting him be part of the track.

Since then, the song has been allowed to mature, and in the end, my incredible friend Grant took it across the finish line, with a bit of guidance from me. I even got to stretch my own boundaries and join in vocally... tjikitikaaaa!
