Gimme A Break Records are incredibly proud to announce their ‘Solidarity With Ukraine’ compilation. Spanning across the genres of breakbeat, UK garage, electro, techno, trance, dubstep and jungle our fundraiser V.A. features 18 incredible producers from across the globe.

Following our discussions with Beth Alana and Nova Cheq we have decided to donate all proceeds from the compilation to the K41 Community Fund. This is a project initiated by the team at the Kyiv based cultural institution ∄ with the aim to provide financial, humanitarian and logistical support to the musical and cultural community that has been facing life-threatening challenges since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Previously established as an event and podcast series based in Dublin, Yin Yang signifies its next step with a vibrant compilation of tracks which touch on dark undertones of techno right through to brighter mutations of DnB, hard-hitting jungle, futuristic electro and beyond. Supplied by flourishing talents across Ireland, UK, Europe, America and South-East Asia.

"Combining a stellar pool of sounds from across the spectrum of electronic music, Yin Yang marks a new beginning with the launch of its label and subsequent release of an exceptional 25 track various artist compilation. When opposites attract and align into the cycles of primary chaos and energy, seeping into elements of movement, dance and music to result in a new state of unwavering balance, the compilation is a prime example.

‘Complex Contrast’ mirrors the vision of the imprint as a whole, bringing together a multitude of textures, tones and themes that collide and weave into one other for a visceral experience. A deluge of different soundscapes complete the V/A and every artist featured has brought an element of their own aesthetic to shape the direction of the label. Cross-border wiring in the studio for the new RFR release! Russia and Georgia share their musical conscience and deliver a fine split EP for cat. no. 16. RNBWS just recently caused a sensation with new tracks on RFR, and we already know Generali Minerali from his first release for RFR X. So now it’s about to time to melt their creative spirit into a collective EP on vinyl.

Generali Minerali and his army occupy the a-side. “Generation of Mars” is musical terraforming in its purest form. Minimally crafted electro, a shot of acid and well-placed melodic patterns are the main ingredients for a magnificent opener.

“Dry Water” sticks with the electro leitmotiv. Compared to the A1 we find a closer reference to the dance floor, meandering scanner sounds and a snare, that keeps slapping constantly. This is how we like it!

On the b-side RNBWS carry on where Generali Minerali and his troops had left the battlefield. “Galaxy” opens the doors to an interplanetary round dance, the place where mind and body join together in the sense of classic electro.

“Nothing but Hardcore” needs no further explanation. UK hardcore in its most beautiful garments, which is so characteristic for RNBWS’ tracks. Interwoven by electro elements, who get to the heart of this EP in terms of stringency.
