The lyrics were inspired by some writings of a friend. I was impressed by her story, the fact that she wrote her sufferings to a kind of guardian angel named Clarisse.

There is a perfect 5th in there at 0:49 and 1:24. It worked without it but I couldn't help it. Locrian is so bleak. I had no idea how to make something sound good with locrian so I listened to Mick Gordon for inspiration.

Dakotsu Iida trained under Takahama Kyoshi, and was chief editor of the poetry journal Unmo until his death. His son Ryuta Iida, a famous haiku poet himself, took over as the editor of Unmo after his father’s death.
