Modern Day Matador is a rock song with alternative, pop and metal influences. That description sounds a bit silly at face value, but give the tune a listen, it should make sense!

Featuring Chris Hodges on vocals, the tune is defined by his dark yet melodic approach on vocals, which range from passionate falsettos to powerful belting. 

On bass, Dan Molgaard takes a Muse-esque approach to the bass line, laying down a fuzz filled 5 string bass track to glue the tune together. 

I wanted a layered approach on guitar with varying levels of intensity, so some parts are on acoustic and clean 6 string guitar, while the heavier parts employ a crunchy 8 string guitar part, which provide a nice counter balance to the lighter parts. The guitar solo shows my Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine) and Slash influence, implementing a melodic whammy based solo.

Inspired by artists such as Muse, Linkin Park, Led Zeppelin, Rage Against The Machine and Imagine Dragons.
