Octavate were formed after a chance meeting between George & Anders at Basscamp, a residential music production course for aspiring dnb artists held in Portugal in 2019. "Ultimatum" was the very first tune they wrote and remains a very special tune for this talented British/Danish duo.

Encapsulating the essence of Octavate in their rawest form, "Ultimatum" combines their love for experimentation, organic progression and big, bad, bass. This theme is continued through three further impressive tracks, each revealing another side to this exciting combo's arsenal. 

After five years of developing their sound and releasing for several high-profile labels, Octavate are ready and proud to unleash their debut EP on Dispatch.

The deep unknown series is a collection of releases where Architecture Recordings invites artists from around the globe to explore the full spectrum of drum and bass sound. The names of these special producers will remain unknown to the listener and they will only have access to the music exclusively. These unique releases will give a more in-depth approach to the “ARX” sound and focus solely on the musical concepts within each volume. The purpose of this project is to get back to the music!

The Journey starts the EP with drifting pads, skillfully chopped breaks and a twinkle of atmospherics before Questions changes the vibe completely with its deep bass, half-time beats and ethereal notes. Next, after a calming intro Retribution twists its sounds into an explosion of erupting beats and thunderous bass. The EP closes with Saviour where more chopping rhythms dance with floating atmospherics and classic vocal stabs. This is a great return for Brad Impact and Omni Music are looking forward to his next musical endeavors.

One of the most dynamic artists to successfully cement his name into the Drum & Bass scene, having performed at club nights and festivals in over 35 countries worldwide, including the world-famous Glastonbury Festival, Creamfields and EDC, he is not prepared to take his foot off the gas.  Rhymestar's aspirations to innovate within his field have seen him apply his vocal talents to not only DnB but Grime and Hip-Hop too. Often identified by an unstoppable flow replete with deep and meaningful lyrics, this recognisable talent is firing on all cylinders. As well as being the preferred MC for Matrix & Futurebound, Tantrum Desire and Culture Shock, Rhymestar is also a permanent fixture at the Viper Recordings tour nights across the UK and further afield. 

Aside from Rhymestar’s busy tour schedule, he has been working extremely hard in the studio, collaborating with a number of prestigious DnB DJs and producers. Having featured on Danny Byrd’s last album ‘Golden Ticket’ on tracks such as ‘BANG!’ and ‘Sublow Junkie’ (Hospital Records), he also made his debut release on Viper Recordings in 2015 releasing ‘Cardiac Arrest’ with Smooth. 2016 saw Rhymestar achieve his first ‘Beatport’ and ‘Track It Down’ number 1 ‘Anarchist’, collaborating with Tantrum Desire on Technique Recordings.

With a number of features on BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra and Kiss Fm the future is extremely exciting for this rising star, so sit back, buckle up and watch this space.
