Uf! 2020 y’all! 
Whatever kind of year we’ve all had...we can be sure that it feels heavy. We feel a weight of something.  Pressing us, depressing us. Something that’s been growing increasingly heavier, increasing its shear gravitation effect on us, pulling us into an abyss. 
With this weight on our backs…its a struggle, to live, to move, to fight, to dance.

Let’s shake it off!!

This mix is a selection of Cumbia from around the globe. These sounds span the abundance of experimentations that cross musical borders of genres calling on elements of Cumbia Rebajada, Sonidera, Cumbia digital, dub Cumbia, Chicago juke/footwork, Southern Trap, Hip Hop and Dubstep and Reggaeton/Dembow, and Kizomba 
These rhythms and sounds are both ancestral and new, voices that speak the past and future. All finding an anchor, a grounding, in the continual "onda" of the shaker. These voices and rhythms, called to new life by the hands(and machines)of these creators, and called to be a balm and a healing to us again through movement, memory, and vision. 
Gratitude and blessings to these producers(see tracklist) for sending these transmissions out into the wilderness.
