"With a string of releases as Garage Shelter, Signal ST and alongside Hardrock Striker as Bleu Blanc House, Signal St. returns to line up his first LP with SKYLAX. Laden with indecipherable disco and funk samples, emotive chord changes and clocking in at one hour, it’s fully fledged dance album with no filler, showing what contemporary house music should sound like in 2021 on a label that has always pushed the genre. The album wanders through a range of functions and energies, from One For You on which Signal St. channels Moodymann, Life Aquatic, where the looping styles of Moomin play centre to a dance of whispy 808 symbols and the percussive workout of Right Next To Me which gives way to the album’s final act. Though club-ready and touching on a range of moods, it evolves from its from its disco/funk beginnings and descending into a 10-minute downtempo finale, swallowed by an abyss of reverb. Like an explosive separation of two people, thrown from the plains of heaven to the depths of hell, “Zapoï and other dysfunctional love stories, closing the loops” pulls together the many faces of Signal St. in a dance album that reflects a young producer entering his prime."

Shane McNamara a.k.a. Dunning Krueger is an ambitious DJ and producer based in Edinburgh, Scotland. With his laidback manner and desire to create, he’s attracted a fanbase of house and garage fans worldwide.

After honing his skills over a number of years, Shane finally felt ready to launch a newalias to showcase his new improved sound, and Dunning Krueger was born. His debut release ‘Jump to It’ on W&O Street Tracks , achieved strong positions in 3 Beatport charts, amongst fierce competition, and was featured in Apple Music’s ‘The Under-ground’ playlist.

Dunning Krueger’s versatile sound falls somewhere between a mix of house, garage and 2-step. If there were any words to describe his sound, he admits ‘sunny vibes’ would be appropriate. Massa records brings you two tracks made by Dunning Krueger especially for the label. The track “Forgotten Feelings” has already been played several times on the show BBC introducing , on BBC Scotland

To remix the main track, the already known and part of the Massa family, Amanda Mussi.

Amanda released her first EP ever on Massa Records with great success. Her track “Keyboard Cats” was remixed by Spenser Parker, Violet and P. Leone.

The door slammed leaving a resounding echo within the empty halls of the house. Upstairs she lay on the bed pondering what on earth had gone wrong and why it was that she was never good enough. Outside the cold wind howled, it was as if winter were out to get her let alone her own personal life. Rain lashed against the window with a dull thud, what would have been a usually comforting sound became a repetitive reminder of the empty world outside and that of which she had lost.

Up and coming British house artist Amy Dabbs takes us on a journey through the house music galaxy, pulling influences from the past while propelling us into the future with her latest release ‘Girl Like Me’ released on Distant Horizons, a sub-label of London mainstay Lobster Theremin.

The four track EP encapsulates the vision and virtues of classic house, reflecting elements from Amy's musical upbringing, infusing influences from Motown through to early house, and simultaneously instilling whispers of 80s and 90s soul that formed the building blocks of the modern day house sound.

Opening track ‘Girl Like Me’ sets the tone with a vibrant pace and rhythmic precision. Illustrating life’s ups and downs, it’s a true testament to the power of positivity and nurtures the ever-present possibility of enrichment in our lives, even through hard times. ‘Mellowday’ is a classic Detroit house number infused with touches of jazz. It’s sublimely uplifting, a feel-good tune with an exquisite sound pallett and vibey vocals.The positive energy of the track and the title itself are inspired by her adopted rescue dog, Melody. 

‘No More Distractions’ shouts-out to the old skool. Cited by Amy as “inspirations” in her musical career, musical legends such as Larry Heard and Metro Area are paid homage to in this track with a revitalised use of the Juno 106, remembering sounds in an 80s-into-90s style epic encounter. Lastly, ‘The Player’ is a pure complement to the end of the night, lifting you up with its soaring pads whilst grounding you with the lyrics of the spoken word. Lyrically relatable and a groove to end on. This is a tune to mend your wings and fly to.

After honing his skills over a number of years, Shane finally felt ready to launch a new alias to showcase his new improved sound, and Dunning Krueger was born. His debut release ‘Jump to It’ achieved strong positions in 3 Beatport charts, amongst fierce competition, and was featured in Apple Music's ‘The Underground’ playlist with support from Renato Cohen, 9th House, Shadow Child and DJ Barely Legal.

Dunning Krueger’s versatile sound falls somewhere between a mix of house, garage and 2-step. If there were any words to describe his sound, he admits ‘sunny vibes’ would be appropriate. 

As well as being a talented DJ and producer, Shane is also an accomplished video director, producing videos for the likes of Mr Beatnick (Mythstery), Reuben Keeney a.k.a. Rebuke (Toolroom Records), FaltyDL (Ninja Tune) and Last Magpie (Me Me Me).

His DJ skills have led him to hold a vinyl only bi-monthly residency at Basement Sate in Soho, and he’s enjoyed a bi-monthly vinyl only show for 2 years on Music Box Radio, and has graced the turntables at Farr Festival on several occasions.

On the music production front his most successful release to date is the ‘Jump to It E.P.’ on Waze and Odyssey’s ‘Street Tracks’ Label. And entering a remix competition for Man Power, resulted in the release being signed to Me Me Me as part of a compilation to raise money for NHS Charities.

Currently Shane is working hard on a label project for a vinyl/digital concept series with a host of great names already onboard. And Dunning Krueger’s future looks bright, with forthcoming E.P's on Stepback Records, Renato Cohens label Massa (Brazil), a follow up E.P. for Street Tracks and a single on Dawn State.
