People! I'm doing not one, but two editions of my bi-monthly residency at Mutant Radio today. There's my "Out there...in the perimeter" 2-hour episode of new music on compilations from whypeopledance , Bamboo Shows , Earthly Measures and the latest Elsewhere compilation as well as new material from T-woc TAGLIABUE, Cosmo Vitelli, Anjuna Niv, Benoit B, Lion's Drums,Jimmy Smack and other wondrous musical entities. Preceding this show is a 1-hour "Solidarity" Special edition dedicated to people around the world dragged into wars and conflicts they do not want. There is a smattering of protest songs and anti-war songs but also philosophical, spiritual and reflective songs highlighting the beauty, marvel, wonder and indeed even tragedy of this thing we call life. For something so special we humans sure do know how to make a mess of a very, very good thing. The message is one of love...and to take heed and learn from our mistakes. Included in the show is music from Bowie, Cher, William Onyeabor, Bahumutsi Drama Group, David Sylvian & Ryuichi Sakamoto, Laibach, Ivor Cutler and lots more. I hope you enjoy this one hour special dedicated in particular to the people of Ukraine and those elsewhere in the world dragged into brutal conflicts against their will, always by men in suits who themselves stay unscathed!!!

Please introduce yourself
- I’m Hoshina Anniversary from Tokyo, Japan.
Musician making tracks w/ traditional Japanese instruments. 

Can you describe your relationship to music throughout your life?
- I started playing the guitar at the age of 16, having been struck by Billy Joel, The Police, and Prince when I was 14.
Eventually, I started playing the bass, got into jazz/fusion, and found that music became a great way to express myself.
Music gives me endless possibilities and allows me to connect with so many people.

How does Japan influence the way you make and listen to music?
- Being Japanese was complex when it came to music.
For example, if I had a yearning for the hard rock of LA in the 80's, I was disappointed that I could never be like that as a boy.
I don't like music that uses Japanese instruments, it's too tacky, or it's not music I want to wear.
So I am reconstructing Japanese music in my own way, watechno.
I am making this music in the hope that if I, as a boy, heard this music, I would have hope for this country.

How is like in Tokyo for you, both in terms of music and life in general?
- In terms of music, I really don't know what I can do in this country.
Sometimes I feel helpless, thinking that no matter how much music I make, it will never amount to anything.
However, my music cheers me up even when I am in such a mood.
Anyway, I enjoy doing music.
In terms of my daily life, I would say that my days are pretty ordinary.
But only Japan is getting left behind, the economy is getting worse, and people may not be feeling the high spirits.
But I enjoy coffee every day.
There are good coffee shops in my town.

How did you approach your Patience release, and how did that differ from your usual approach to making music?
- I thought about story-based and things like, "It would be interesting to see this kind of development.
I think I prefer to add a characteristic chord progression rather than to keep a certain groove.
I usually write songs with some degree of story-based, but I had never written a song longer than 15 minutes, and it was a fun challenge.
I'm grateful for the opportunity and I think I gained a lot of insight.

- I included songs with my characteristic chord progressions and distinctive sounds.
Some tracks that will be released in the future, other tracks that were recently released by Modern Obscure music by moniker Suemori, and unreleased etc.

Two year anniversary episode of Cricket Talk with two dear friends from Zürich. First up is Nive with tracks that contain a lot of elements from Carnatic music, which she has known since childhood. Second hour is a selection by Subject To Restrictions Discs label head Dominik André. He went through his record collection and picked out some albums he hadn't listened to in a long time and then chose the tracks he likes best at that moment, rediscovering the music in the process.
