I am very excited to finally be releasing this EP. The tracks were originally produced in 2017 and are finally getting getting released to the public. Initially it looks like 4 different versions of the same song (1 original, 3 remixes), however each of these tracks are unique in their own right and capture the essence and style of each of the artists involved. All of them could be used in the same DJ set and nobody would know they are the same song.
Did I mention this is a charity release? 100% of the proceeds will be going to art and music school projects via donorschoose.org. Each of the remix artists were kind enough to donate their talents to help raise money for this.

It's hard not to know Mark Farina's name as an electronic music fan. He's developed a signature blend of house music — dubbed "Mushroom Jazz" — across a series of essential mixtapes since the mid-90s. For GhostlyCast #88, Mark shares a mix of techno and house that speaks to his roots as a Midwestern dance music fan and Gramaphone record shop employee. "Growing up in Chicago in the '80s was a great place to hear new music. As a young teenager going to Wax Trax Records and Medusa's, I bridged from the industrial sounds into house, techno, and acid tracks around 1988. At that time, I went to Detroit with Derrick Carter and Chris Nazuka to record as Symbols and Instruments for KMS Records. Chez Damier was head of A & R there. Metroplex was next door and Transmat upstairs from there. Chicago and Detroit had a shared vibe, which I still love."

GhostlyCast #88: Mark Farina - Bliznobia Time Dilation

rhythmrobot is the alias of Chicago-based producer Ryan Gilhooley, a veteran of the underground scene with a deep love for Acid, Techno, and Deep House. Originally producing under the name Hardware in the early 2000s, Ryan took a creative hiatus from 2009 to 2015 to pursue a career in marketing. The return to music in 2015, under the moniker rhythmrobot, was as much a therapeutic journey as a sonic one.

In 2016, rhythmrobot made his label debut with Drum Hop on Ante Recordings, quickly followed by Chapdr3 on Run on Recordings, thanks to a fateful introduction to fellow producer Owen Ni (aka Pan!k). The two have since become frequent collaborators, with releases on labels such as Snail Juice Records, Bang Le Dex, AcidWorx, and Run on Trax.

A major milestone came in 2020 when Posthuman played rhythmrobot’s track Urges at the legendary I Love Acid party. The following year, his collaboration Rung with Owen Ni landed on several Spotify editorial playlists, earning global recognition and reaching listeners in 138 countries.

In 2023, rhythmrobot contributed an Acid mix to the iconic 5 Magazine's Rise series, solidifying his place in the evolving landscape of modern Acid and Techno. His work has been remixed by artists like dyLAB, JAK, Yokushe, Master Master, Mark Ryal, Distortion Inc., and Pat Foosheen.
