Rïa Mehta is presently based in NYC, & her multicultural influence takes its roots from growing up in Sri Lanka, London, Dubai & India.

When curating a set, Rïa's focus is always on her audience: she loves taking them on a melodic journey fused with global and eclectic sounds that hint at her diverse upbringing, and she has no intention of boxing herself into a specific genre. Ultimately, her vision is to bring that same multifaceted groove to her music productions, and to interloop different musical boundaries with emotion.

6 months after her first release, Rïa's collab track Sacré reached #1 on Beatport... and she's got more musical surprises coming this year!

Rïa Mehta's opening set for @dosem at Quantum, Brooklyn. She got to celebrate her @desertheartsblack EP release with a set that started and ended with some favorite Anjunadeep tracks, a sneak peek of some unreleased tracks, and of course, merged her signature dark style in between to include Arcane - part of the DHB EP that just topped out at #8 on the melodic house and techno charts on Beatport. She then threw in a remix of her favorite throwback track "faded", and closed out with dance tracks for a perfect handoff to Dosem and a very happy crowd. Special thanks to the Made Event team for having her!

Rïa Mehta's live DJ set for @hmwl 's Backyard Sessions party, in Malmö Sweden. Her set kicks off with an unreleased track, slow and soothing leading into an upbeat deep-house vibe - and you can hear the crowd's insanely fun energy by the end of the 2-hour set. True to form, she made the beautiful people of Sweden dance the evening away on this  midsummer day as the sun stayed out till nearly midnight.

While this is an unofficial remix and not a proper release, it's one of my favorite tracks to date. Billie's voice is just incredible; like hot butter, it melts right through the heavy electronic landscape I created around it.

Introduction 146 | Rïa Mehta

No one knows where Rïa is really from. Currently based in NYC, her multicultural roots come from growing up in Sri Lanka, London, Dubai & India.

When curating a set, Rïa's focus is always on her audience: she loves making them dance, taking them on a journey fused with eclectic sounds that hint at her diverse upbringing - resulting in sets that range from melodic techno to ethnic deep house. Ultimately, her vision is to bring that same multifaceted groove to her music productions, and to interloop different musical boundaries with emotion.

Some words from Ria: A new year begins, and with that so does this mix of melodic house infused with some dance tracks. It includes my remix of Jordan Arts "Not Alone" that just released on House Music With Love last month, and a few new IDs! I hope you'll enjoy the mix as much as I did making it.

Rïa Mehta's live DJ set at OXA Beach, in Koh Phangan Thailand Feb 2023. Her set kicks off with some groovy deep house to get people on the jungle dancefloor, and then crosses genres to please this very happy and diverse crowd. Rïa Mehta's Kater Blau debut last month; recorded live on Heinz Hopper floor, 2 - 5 am Saturday night. Showcasing 3 hours of Dark Disco, Melodic Techno, and classic House fused with ethnic sounds, Rïa brings her signature style to an audience that was ready to dance all night. You can hear their absolute joy in the set with the audience's reactions recorded -- so just for the next 3 hours, you can feel like you were there 🙃

A Dream Out Now!

HMWL Podcast 369  - Rïa Mehta (Live at HMWL ADE 2023)

This year's Burning Man received a record amount of rainfall (2-3 months worth of rain in 1 night) which led to historic burn conditions; flooding + mud at Black Rock City.

Luckily, my performance at The Fluffy Cloud was pre-rainfall, kicking their events off on Wednesday. I was fortunate to be able to play on a lineup alongside some of my favorites like Township Rebellion and LP Giobbi, and the evening/night was fantastic with Burners from all over coming to rave with us all night. 🙌

PREMIERE: Rïa Mehta - Reborn (Extended Mix) [Enormous Vision]

Delivering another selection of chill melodic cuts, Purified Records presents Purified Fragments XXIII. Crafting a scintillating soundscape with intricate percussion and smooth vocals, Adam Nazar’s ‘Omens’ sets the compilation’s tone. Flowing into Curt Reynold’s ‘Rolling Heart’, listeners are drawn into an instrumental arrangement that ebbs and flows with a steady groove. Closing the EP with Rïa Mehta, Sean Ae, Jack Willard’s ‘Moments’, the producers craft a sonic journey across different heights and textures, completed by Samanta Liza’s majestic vocals. 

The Fragments XXIII artwork highlights a photograph of a turtle, captured by Daniel Nicholson. Sea turtles are known for their long migrations, often traveling thousands of miles between feeding grounds and nesting beaches, as well as their critical role in maintaining healthy marine ecosystems by grazing on seagrass and controlling jellyfish populations. Global citizens can help turtles by reducing plastic waste and keeping beaches clean, as turtles often mistake plastic for food and can get entangled in debris. Supporting conservation programs and protected nesting sites ensures turtles have safe environments to lay their eggs. Additionally, advocating for laws that reduce bycatch and implementing turtle-friendly fishing practices can significantly decrease the number of turtles accidentally caught in fishing gear. Rapture & NY AnjunaFamily had their first collab on Sunday, May 3rd, and I'm excited to share the recording from what I can easily say was the most fun I've had on a Sunday afternoon in a LONG time!

The theme was Brunch & Beats, so my set started off with some chill Anjuna/ADID vibes (including an upcoming release of my own, which was *so* exciting to play for the first time publicly!) Despite getting deeper with every tune, the melodious and fun theme stuck till the end, with some of my all-time favorite Anjuna tracks closing out the set :) (and if you joined the stream live, you got to watch me sing them in my living room ;))

I feel so lucky to have gotten the chance to play with Anjuna artists like @vintageandmorelli and @wassu - special thank you to @club-rapture and @jared-skolnick for making it happen, and to everyone who tuned in, THANK YOU! <3 I hope this will be the first of many!

"Linear Cycle" spoke the most to me with its weirdly cool lyrics, so I mixed them up with folksy Indian beats and vocals to bring out the elements some more.
