So I address this to you,
my darling,
my brown eyed, bald headed, kayus handed, do'fi hardworking lancheru at heart.
i raise the cheapest can of beer to you.
i just wanted to say i love you with all my heart or what my hypertension will allow and with all the sugar my diabetes won't metabolize, sweetheart.

i've been admiring you from afar
the way you move your hips when you bushcut - even though you could've used a lawn mower.
the way you flex your arm when you cut tangan tangan in your sleeveless shirt - it really gets me hot and heavier.
i saw you at ace hardware one time buying brake fluid to fix your hilux in the parking lot.
i couldn't help but stare at the way your belly jiggled and glistened in the hot sun as you sweat underneath the hood
i imagine one day we'll be holding hands under the picnic table eating herman's bakery sweet bread with vienna sausage
if not, i'd be satisfied with mixing your chew
to keep those once pearly whites taki-stained forever
because it really flatters the rest of your camouflage attire 
even though i know you never joined the military.
i'm surprised you haven't noticed me yet
it's really hard not to
i was at the airport going to guam
i really thought it was so sweet of you to follow your mom on medical referral
some days i wish it was me...
you think maybe one day we might carve our initials in a coconut tree?
or watch the sunset at bantalan?
or get married at the mayor's office?
i really hope you get this --
and the steel toes i bought you.
