Shot On The Corner Of 5th Ave (new mix)

A drone with a simple beat. I needed to get this out of my system, to make room for new ideas.
The drone is made with a BassStation 2 through a Mackie SR24.4 mixer with a Lexicon MPX-1 ('space plate') on aux 5/6, recorded with a MOTU UltraLite Hybrid mk3 into a MacBook, running Ableton Live v8.2. The beats are done with a Drumstation with the same signal path but a different effect ('tiled room'). So it's mostly analogue :-)

This track is based on a recording of the solar wind. The original recording has been manipulated with the iOS app SpaceCraft, a granular synthesier. Other tools used are: Ableton Live v8.2, Elastic Drums, Drum Pro, Ensoniq SQ1+ and then some.

New track completely made with the big modular system down at the Engine Room. I added a little reverb from the Lexicon PCM91. I accidentally came across a Tardis, hence the song title...  ;-)

Low Earth Orbit

This time I took the start-to -finish forward approach of creating a track. For each track, MIDI was recorded to audio as soon as I thought the part was good, then the MIDI was discarded immediately.

It started with the broad pad chord progressions, then the sound effects, then the bass and the arpeggio. That was followed by the break and then I started with a new idea with the brighter strings, built that up and added the lead. Finally I got back to the pad of the beginning to round off the mood of the track.
